In this episode, we’re diving Deep Down to ask a universal question 'what was I made for?’ Have you laid awake at night questioning whether you’re fulfilling your potential or answering your life’s purpose? Is your vocation also your true calling? It would appear that for a professional musician, their career choice often seems like the obvious choice, but in my twenty-plus years as a music teacher, I’ve also met countless adults who gave up music earlier in life, only to come back to it later. To answer the question, I’ll be attempting to distil my experience of thousands of hours of composing, teaching, practising, singing and performing, as well as discussing the Japanese concept of Ikigai, and sharing some pivotal moments where, with a little nudge from the universe and a lot of work, and a lot of luck(!), I’ve come to call music my life’s work!
