Deep Reactions with Catalyst

The awesome producer/DJ Nora En Pure was in town for a show on the day I played this set; so I channeled the vibe and tried to my best to mimic Nora En Pure (including some tunes by the lady herself).

Like this set? As always, I will appreciate it if you Favorite, Repost, and Subscribe.

It was cloudy, rainy, and 50kph wind where I live on the day I played this. So it was "hunker down in the storm", and play some dark-skies music. But, even with that foundation, this set is brilliant, no! :-)

I didn't start out with an intent to play a Tech House set. I actually spoke of a more Defected Records direction in my intro voice-over. BUT, the on-the-fly choices I made as I was spinning the first 3-5 tracks just trended that direction. So, I embraced the direction and made the most of it.

A couple of tracks from popular names like Hot Since 92 and Roland Clark, but MOSTLY from names you don't know, like Bontan, Sllash & Doppe, Pirate Copy, and more.

A delayed posting of a set played live 2021 May 14. (Sorry for the delay!)

It's becoming clear (thus the set name ;-) that our station is attracting some new DJs. There are four that have signed up to work with us, and a couple of more are submitting sets for review. But we need more, so spread the word.

Hopefully this set brings some "clear"ness to your day, with tunes from Crackazat, Camilo Franco, a new remix of Days Like This (from Booker T), Sebb Junior, Viola, Ross Couch, Spiritchaser, Nina Kravitz, and many more.

Enjoy!

It's been a while since I uploaded here. I'm playing at Balearic FM these days, and everything is in rotation there.

BUT, I loved this Gospel House set, and thought it might be happy to share it here.

Lots of straight-up house with a good beat after the deep house warmup. Tunes from well known artists like DJ Seen, Kevin Yost, Even Ulusoy, Reelsoul, Grant Nelson and more, plus a bunch of tracks from great producers you don't know.

As the warm weather returns and vaccines enable a return to traveling, many are making plans to go to Ibiza this summer. We hope you are!

This set starts with some warm-weather deep house, and moves into an extended bunch of soulful house in the 2nd half with music from the likes of DJ Spen, Sebb Junior, Booker T and Brutha Basil, Frankie Knuckles and many more.

This is a recording of the live set at I spun on Balearic FM on 2021 April 30. Spirits across *most* of the world are looking up as Covid recedes (as vaccine's get into arms).

So this set is chock full of soulful, gospel-ey, deep house with a good bit of swing & funk to lift your spirits. Classic tunes from Ananda Project, Frankie Knuckles and Crazibiza, modern remixes from Dr. Packer and Seamus Haji, and new tunes from House Gospel Choir, David Morales, Michelle Weeks, and on and on.

Tune into the station, too! balearic-fm.com, or on Apple Music (app), TuneIn (except UK), and many other internet radio apps.

This set starts off with some Deep House to get you started on your Friday evening, then works its way to some more straight-up house, thru tech house all the way to some full-on techno to finish the set. - with an awesome techno closer that eases you down nicely.

Songs from all kinds of good producers you may know like DJ Spin, Pezzner, and more - but mostly songs by producers you *don't* know who are making good music, from Karizma, Ben Sun, Furious, Catz 'N Dogs - and that wonderful closer by Avoure.

Enjoy, and be sure to tune into the station for 24x7 broadcasting of this kind of music. Find the station in Apple Music's "Internet Radio" listing.
