Deep Reactions with Catalyst

Recorded live at Dogglounge Internet Radio on 2019 May 05 (https://dogglounge.com).

I'd just taken a holiday in the Caribbean, and felt like tunes that weren't total party, yet still upbeat. Hope you enjoy.

I picked these tracks because they seemed to me to be right down the middle of the Dogglounge sound. Maybe a bit more housey (vs. deep) about 45-60 minutes in, but still right there.

I finished with my normal Dogglounge set on Sunday, 2019 Mar 24, and the station owner asked if I could play a while longer. So I broke out my disco ball & played an hour of nu-disco.

Fun times.

Recorded live at https://dogglounge.com on 2019 march 24. This was an intentional re-recording of the same tracks I played at the live event "Lovestruck" (the 25th such event) in Boston a week before the DL set. I did not have an opportunity to record my live set, so I (re-)broadcast it at the station for online posting.

Forgive me – it’s more of a party / Saturday night set than a typical Dogglounge Deep House set. I made up for this “slip” (;-) by recording a Nu-Disco set immediately after. (See my next posted set.)

As is often the case, my podcast title is driven by the weather outside. And, the sun has risen back into a higher angle in the sky, harkening spring. This, despite the fact that my city received 12" of snow over the last several days. BUT, we can sense spring coming.

I had just returned from a week in Miami; the music there is always hot, and this inspired me to do a bit more of a 3am set than usual. (At least in the middle of the set.)

One of the other station DJs wasn’t playing in his slot on this Friday, and I had some free time. So I jumped right in, and played for a bit over an hour. Not a full 2-hour set, but it’s all the time I had.

Mostly, I wanted tunes that were upbeat. Not fully successful - some are more minor key, but overall I hope it's an uplifting set.

Recorded live at https://dogglounge.com on 2019 Jan 18; an unscheduled set.

It was Friday, the normal DL Friday DJ was MIA, so I jumped on & did some tunes that a Friday night demands: Tech House. Go out & club music. Stuff to make you dance.

Recorded live at http://dogglounge.com on 2019 Jan 13. Baby, it's cold outside!

Sooo, this set got done with little prep, because I was watching the New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Chargers in an NFL playoff game (instead of preparing the set). Go Pats!

But, it turned out to be an excellent set. I’m quite pleased with how it came out, both from a musical and mixing perspective. I hope you enjoy streaming it from Soundcloud via your phone + bluetooth speaker, or your Sonos system, or … you way!
