In one of the most marvelous chapters in the OT, God gives us a glimpse into the unseen world.  The NT teaches us that our fight is not with "flesh and blood".

This chapter records one of the most remarkable prayers in all of the Scriptures.  Daniel reads the scriptures and becomes convinced that the Babylonian captivity is about to come to an end.  He sets his face to pray and seek the face of the LORD.   This remarkable prayer is "interrupted" by the Angel Gabriel who then gives one of the most important prophecies regarding the First and Second coming of Jesus Christ!

Daniel asks for clarification regarding the 4th Beast which is diverse from the other 3.  We learn that it is more dreadful and terrible than anything before it.  But we also know it will have a climactic and dramatic end!   Learn what the Bible says about this character commonly referred to as "antichrist".

In this episode, we see the fall of the Babylonian empire.  Nebuchadnezzar had been humbled by God and then he acknowledge the LORD as the "Most High" God.   His grandson Belshazzar was lifted up with pride but he refused to repent.   His days were numbered and his kingdom was finished.   The Medo-Persian Empire would conquer him in one night.

In today's message, we review the narrative of the 3 Hebrew men who refused to bow down to the statue of Nebuchadnezzar.   They are thrown into a blazing furnace, but something interesting happens.  A fourth man appears in the fire with them and rescues them.   As you and I endure our "fiery trials of faith" (I Peter 4:12) we can learn and receive great comfort from this true biblical narrative.
