"Behold the Lamb of God"

Today we look at one of the most majestic of all passages in the New Testament- the Prologue to John's Gospel.  Much as an overture provides previews of an opera or symphony, the Prologue gives us a glimpse into some of the major themes of the 4th Gospel:  Life, Light, Truth, Darkness, Witness, etc.

In today's episode we look at the purpose of the 4th Gospel and some distinct features.  Then we begin the Prologue and see that Jesus Christ is indeed God and was with the Father in the Beginning.

As one year ends and another begins, it's always appropriate to evaluate where we are in relation to God and our fellow man.  Join us today as we go over 10 different items on our year-end "check-list".

Paul writes to the Galatians who are facing the temptations of legalism.   The law is merely a schoolmaster to bring one to Christ.  The "Christmas" story is about God sending forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law.  Furthermore, God wasn't just looking for servants, but sons!

Matthew's Gospel opens with the earthly lineage of Jesus Christ and also shows the Divine origins of Jesus' birth.   The Virgin Birth is an absolutely essential component of the Gospel.   Jesus is the only individual that was both fully God and fully man.   His earthly ancestors were far from perfect.  We see a cast of characters that remind us that "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God".  But thankfully, we serve a King of Infinite Grace.   Glory be to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the only True King!!!

As Joshua plans to enter and possess the land given to them by the LORD, he first sends out two spies to assess the situation.   The Providence of God leads the spies to the house of a harlot named Rahab.   This Canaanite prostitute will go from the "hall of shame" to the "hall of faith".  Join us for today's episode as we explore the faith of Rahab.

In today's message we follow up to David's adultery with Bathsheba and subsequent murder of her husband Uriah.  The LORD sends Nathan the prophet to confront David with his sin and inform him of the dire consequences of his actions.   David finds grace and forgiveness upon his true contrition and confession of sin.  There will be however, many sorrows that will befall David and his family in the coming days, weeks, and years.  Let us learn from this example!
