Ok so I took this message from the book titled, “Ministry Of The Spirit” written by A. J. Gordon in 1894. The chapter is the title of this message. It is an outstanding book about the totality of the function and purpose of the Holy Spirit. I did however find that this particular chapter really spoke to me and so I wanted to share it with you. In this season of researching I have been looking at a lot of books that speak on the Holy Spirit since He is so very neglected in todays church. Oh what a gentleman and if we knew how little it took to quelch his activity well I suppose we may well just decide to stop doing those things since He is the power representation of God in the earthly ambassadors, lords, priests, and kings. Without…wait lets hear it from the mouth of the King of kings:

John 15:5 - “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

And well as you already know without Jesus and the Holy Spirit you have no religion that will get you to heaven. It’s nothing more than a fake insurance policy.

Well before I get too far into another message let’s be blessed and commune with the Holy Spirit.

Ha, so this message is not going to be as funny as the title comes off to be. And well if you didn't think it funny then you may well be ahead of the game. 

So these days and the condition of His beloved church is gnawing at the very marrow of my bones. Oh, and it's not because I dwell in the secret place getting free-for-all Godly whispers, because I have discovered some secret way into His heart. Nope, In the one hand I have this “Keeping-Me-Awake-At-Nights” concern of our today's Church condition. And no I am not at this moment talking about the Catholic Church or the denominational church or the non-denominational church specifically as I have many messages on those specific things. Nope I am talking about the condition of its individual parts that make up the whole. I am talking about why those churches are in the condition that they are in and not from an enterprise level, that is a high up view level, but right down to each and every one of us. The churches are a mess because we are a mess, and this message will show how that is possible. 

Now on the flip side of the hand, is my personal concern regarding the all too much activity of the flesh me, the old man, the one that is supposed to be crucified with Christ (Gal 2:20), and how by continuing to feed it, be it in ignorance or on purpose, and it feeds fatly, by the way, on excuses as to why we cannot or do not choose to feed the new man, and its resulting effects on the growth of my new man spiritual humanity (Eph 4:17 – 5:33). Yup , I just threw myself into this party you see. It’s not a me to you message as it is a He to us message. 

Half the time I am using the sword of God to equip the saints for the work of ministry and at other times I want to fall on it least I sin again. And oh no I am not sin free nearly as much I want or desire to be. And let's avoid the spiritual cliches' that would try and lift off my coffin of concerns about my spiritual conditions, as I no doubt believe that, if this Christianity today is a tough road to hoe for myself, then it too must be for you my listeners as well, especially if you too lose sleep over the condition of the church and it’s unnatural effectiveness to be almost ineffective. 

Ok, so nuff bout me. Let's get to the love portion of this message, and hey it is all in love in spite of its opening. 

So how do I develop this message that is considered to be such as strong word? Ha, now don't feel compelled to answer that question as I already would have received the answer hence this message. You can tell, just to give you some insider information on the type of message, that when the message opens up with some light humor, it might going to be a tough one. Not grammatically correct but most no doubt effective.

Well I decided to read the book of Ephesians, James, Colossians, 1st & 2nd Thessalonians, 1st & 2nd Peter, 1st & 2nd Timothy, the books of 1st, 2nd, & 3rd John, &  Titus, Philemon, And Jude. Like 1st, 2nd, & 3rd John they are in a single message, the book of Galatians, Philippians, 1st and 2nd Corinthians, Hebrews, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

I have not added any commentary or narrative nor any chapter or verse references. Because they have been liked by quite a few listeners I thought I would try to do more of them with the remaining New Testament books of the bible. This way you have access to the entire New Testament on my Podcast. 

I do think it is a good idea because you can get the entire book in just a few minutes. Front to back without interruption. Now I say that but just reading the bible is not sufficient for learning, so God gave us teachers as well. This is however one way of getting through the books of the bible. Your spirit, new man, inner man, the Holy Spirit, and your heart depend on your getting the word down inside of you. If your Christianity is a dead work, it is because of a lack of bible reading time as well as a lack of bible doing time.    

So this message is not about teaching by breaking down the Book Of Acts, but about allowing you to seek the nuggets for yourself. This message my friends is about listening. Listen to the words, to the sentences, hear in your very spirit what marvelous things are being said. 

Now this message will be longer than you might be used to. The goal and purpose of recording each book in its entirety is to give you the uninterrupted, not even by chapter and verses, story. 

Hosea 6:3 – “…Let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord…”

1st Tim 5:17 - 17 Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. 

2nd Tim 2:15 - Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Well, get your notepad ready and get ready to be astounded at what you are about to hear.

In the main scripture of which you will discover as we move through this message, I changed the word He to we without at all changing the meaning or intent of the scripture. 

Let’s foundationalize this message:

John 14:12-14 - 12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

Now this is a big instruction from Jesus. He is telling us that we in essence will be Him on earth doing the same things, that is healing, casting out demons, giving words of knowledge, using wisdom, you know all of the Holy Spirit gifts as well as many more, that we would continue His program of salvation as well, and get this because it is the heart of this message, and that we would do greater works than these. Now I am not a Greek or Hebrew scholar, well in fact I am not a scholar in most everything so I guess that shouldn’t by now be a big surprise, but greater does not mean continuing on with the same program that Jesus did. Look at what He says just before He introduces the Greater statement, “the works that I do he will do also.” You see He already said we would be doing, should be doing, each and every one of us should be doing, ha, no but many Christians will have been found to have accepted the job of salvation having never showed up for work. And yes if that bothers you that I said that then respond to the Holy Spirit and clock in. The few Christians running for God need your help. Ok so anyway, we see that He swept the normal tasks out in front of us and then added, greater works than these we will do.” Notice the words, “than these” meaning healing, preaching, teaching, miracles, signs, and wonders, casting out demons, yes and all of the other things that Jesus did. And but now why would I go to such great lengths to be sure you understand the difference between what the bibles tells us that Jesus did, and the additional “greater works than these” statement? Because I have read and heard that the real meaning of this is that because there are more of us than of Jesus, the greater simply means volume of work. Of course right? I mean if 1000 Christians are doing the normal work of Jesus, that is going to produce more than He and even the 120 who were in the upper room would have produced. Now don’t ask me if we in todays church are actually doing that, but that is what some people believe and I would not disagree with them. But. I know right? There has to be a but in this because what they are stating is what we call the obvious. Considering all things equal, two people would or should out perform one. So but Jesus went beyond elementary math and added, ” greater works than these we will do.” Not more as it would be obvious to any elementary baby Christian and maybe in this one time Jesus trusted us to actually get that basic concept. Again for the mathematically challenged, of which I am, two people should outperform one. 

So this message is going to tale a look at some unique things that happened back in the day. Why? Because I think we have yet to see the great works in our days. Listen to this:

Matt 24:24 - For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

So I was reading a book and decided to share its contents as it is really a book that inspired me to think about how many of us still don’t get it. Now I am addressing the ignorant Christian, and I don’t mean that meanly but simply that you have been taught a specific way and just haven’t been motivated to ensure that what you have been taught is accurate. How many Christians will end up in hell because they simply didn’t make their salvation sure? I think one is way too many and I cringe at the thought that we lose people every day on this planet who, if it were possible after you die to be shocked at anything, would be shocked that they were standing in the goat line. And ain’t no goats gettin’ into heaven. 

So but now I am also addressing the one-foot-inner’s-and-the-one-foot-outers. These are those who could be swayed or convinced if they just had the truth set before them. In the world when men use words no one understands we all shake our heads as if we understood but worse of all we think that they are really something set apart from the rest of humanity. I have stared to read some books and could not continue because the author really wrote the book for themselves and to feed their ego and not to feed my mind or heart. Yes, some people write using the communication methods to do nothing more than boast about who they think that they are. And do they trap people and win ignorant people to their cause which is usually self exaltation? Yes, same, same as satan. You can be sure that their boss is not God.

Bu so anyway the last group that I was thinking about when I was reading this book was the unbeliever.  Not the angry individual that is fighting against the idea of God, they must break through the spiritual battle that they are in after all no one can serve two masters i.e. God and satan. It is one or the other and satan will not let you go willy-nilly. Nope, this last group has really never heard a clean version of the gospel or they haven’t heard about it at all. And unfortunately this truth is truer more today than ever before. Funny how we Christians think that the gospel will be preached throughout the whole earth without our assistance. Oh don’t get me started as that is for another message. Nope again this is for those stuck in the valley of indecision but want an answer that is real and that can bring a real change to their circumstances. 

The title of the book is, “The New Birth’ and it was written by Kenneth E. Hagin. I would recommend reading any of his books which come to near over 100 or more to get some real help in your faith walk. His son is also a good writer who also writes some very helpful books.

Ok so I would like to welcome my guest speaker today on this podcast Dwight L Moody. Ha, but no he couldn’t be talked back from heaven to preach another sermon for any amount of money. Now but so I can because I read his book titled, “Thou Fool & 11-Other Sermons written by him in 1911. This message is one of those sermons. I would but if I didn’t have so many of my own messages to get to, teach on all of them as he has a wonderful spirit of Evangelism on him and oh could he get believers rescued from hell. 

I chose this chapter because it is a crisis within todays church which is solvable by more of us choosing to do our religion in the power of the Holy Ghost. Way too many of us have grown up believing that the Holy Ghost is for those more spiritual than us. I would say, that they are more spiritual, or even we could say more effective by way of being more productive than you are, because they indeed do have the Holy Spirit. Now you could have also been taught this lie by your church denomination. Yes, the rumor started with just one guy and he convinced entire denominations to buy into the lie. And look, everyday it is proven by the few who are working in miracles, signs, and wonders that he was lying. So, if you didn’t believe in miracles, signs, and wonders, and yet you saw them happening, why would you remain in unbelief? Just like satan did to Eve and tried to do with Jesus, he simply supported his lies using scriptures out of context or in part and not in totality. Oh, this is why we need to read our bibles and say ever so close to God and the Holy Spirit.

What is this? A modern message about technology that just came out. Yup, and but keep in mind as a believer your spiritual ears and eyes have been open so you now can understand those things kept from those who are still wresting with the whole God thing:

Matt 13:11 - He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

So I came across a trigger article, that is something I read and then I see a message all over it, and boom a picture of how things are going to get really messed up insofar as our current technology that we are currently using.

I am not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist but I think that this message may come across like one. The idea is not to take action and throw all of your technology away. Besides if satan, and in spite of mankind looking as though we came up with this idea for computers, you would be mistaken. You see for everything that we come up with that initially looks like it will help to improve mankind’s circumstances, the devil corrupts it in some way so that it can also be used as a weapon in his hands:

Is 54:17 - No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

You want an example, we have millions in the medical field, and no I am not picking on them just because I believe that all Christians can walk their entire Christian life healed of all and every sickness and disease, nope, I am just providing and example. So a person goes in to get treated for cancer but the treatment can cause death. Look:

John 10:10 - The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

1 Peter 5:8 - Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Now a little chit-chat about the book of John. This is the fourth of four gospels, although some believe that the book of Acts could also be considered a gospel. Neither weether, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that reading and knowing the gospels alone will not lead you to being a solid Christian. Read or listen to, and do, is the only method which works. I say this as kindly as possible, do not leave it up to your church to equip you to be the Christian you need to be. We are or were when we were unsaved, prone to live life blaming others for our station in life. We liked to hold others accountable for making sure we had everything we desired. Ha, and even as saved beings we can still fall into that error. 

In a new marriage no one should have to encourage you to spend time with your new husband or wife, if so then you shouldn’t marry or won’t be married long. Same, same with Jesus. No one should have to tell you to spend time with your new Spiritual Groom (Ephesians 5:25-27, Revelation 19:7-9). If anyone has to tell you to do so, then you are probably not ready to commit to Him and should but beg to be ready soon. im 

In addition, the book of John is distinct from the other similar gospels in that he had a unique relationship to God. He had revelation about God that the others didn’t have. You will also see that he is the same one who wrote the book of Revelation. He is also the only one of the original Apostles that wasn’t murdered, although there was attempts to do so such as boiling him in a vat of oil.

Oh boy, yes at one point in time we were all definitely willing to go to hell. That my friends is a gamble because we are not assured of life longevity and we could have died before we had the opportunity to say yes to Jesus. Millions have gambled with the salvation message thinking that they would simple do a death-bed conversion you know so that they can sin up to their necks just before going to heaven. Ha, like it’s a step down to go to heaven compared to the pig-swamp we live in down here. And but yes, this could have been any one of my listeners as was such as I was. Now that’s podcast Preachin’ right there. 

I waited for 34-yrs escaping death at least 4X’s before finally opening my eyes and seeing that this world is not what so many think it is. Oh I know there are at least three different versions of the story. 

The first is that it is as I see it the way that it is which is why I gave up on relying on it to bring lasting peace, security, freedom from the fear of death, knowledge deep enough to explain away the horrid things people do to each other, and stuff like that. As it is – that’s one version. 

The other is to believe, because we don’t want to believe my version, so we believe that it is not really that bad, and we think this not looking into the closets that hold the history of atrocities that we have done to each other in the name of everything that is evil. Oh I mean in the name of whatever we relabel evil so that we do not have to see things as they are but what we would imagine that they would be. Yup, this is the old me and I believed in that earth-narrative for 34-years of my life. I contrast it to someone who is standing on the autobahn hoping that the cars will never hit them. as that person standing on the freeway is of course gambling with their false belief that because they are human the drivers will never run into them, and if they did it would be an accident so no harm no foul, except that you are now standing in hell, both you and your false reality of a story that unfortunately you let guide you into hell. So this version sees the world through a glass dimly lit hoping that as time marches on things will get better.

Ok so we have the “as is” version, the “things are or will get better version” and now on to the third version. 

The third version is a funny group in that they may have the most accurate vision of all of the people in both the other groups, assuming none in either group has gotten saved yet. Because, and I am explaining so you don’t have to wonder why I said what I said, which is that once saved your spiritual eyes and ears are open and well hang on because you have now entered reality and truth, something which could not have been seen by anyone in any of the groups unless you tired of the dead promises and hopes that the devil pins on your lapels.

Ok so all who listen to this message will be listening to the 600 message that the Podcast Preacher has rolled out by the calling, commission, purposes, anointing, and power of God. Ha, I said it lake that because I want you to know that without God I should but be dead and well deserving of it. My life was absent of anything God for 34-years and if that doesn’t prove Gods patience towards us I am not sure what does. I do think what if God just said one day, “well that’s it, I must remove him from the earth before he does some real damage?” Hell! All day long and without escape I would have gone to the place that so few these days seem so unconcerned with. I tremble at the thought that I would have died by my own drunkenness or debauchery and have simple woke up or appeared in front of Jesus with no excuse for rejecting Him. None. 

This is the stuff that all nightmares should be made up of, not that you should have nightmares, but that where you spend eternity ought to concern you more than anything else on this earth. Yes we only get to visit this planet for about 70-years. Yup, we are camping on this earth for about 70-years and the campground has some rules and if followed then we go to heaven and get to live in a new campground which is so nice that it is called Paradise. A new earth. But if we follow the rules of the earth that most all people follow, living to consume all and to experience any and all pleasure without remorse or what they believe, without consequences. Hey why do people say that they do not believe in God? Same reason I didn’t want to believe. Because if He did exist, and down in my child person I did in fact believe it, it was the bent adults that convinced me otherwise, and is this not the precise thing that happens to all kids? Yes, but so if I believed as a sinning adult then it would be true that my sins would deliver me to hell forever. Ya let that echo in your ears…forever. Not for 70-years. Nope, for 70 X infinity X infinity. Why do we not have a realistic view of the consequences of our sins? Well besides instant gratification and the fact that when we were born we were satan’s children, so like father like son and I say this not to the exclusion of the daughters.

So the message will deal with the fringes of why we ignore the obvious, but before we cut into it, sit down as a believer and be sure you are an active, not passive, but active Christian. Yes some of us are busy trying to improve our camping conditions, but it is for not. In some strange way trying to preserve the old campsite is like applying the solution of which we have which is to build dams to store water and to prevent floods while at the same time destroying migratory fishing lanes or displacing 100’s of old towns that will now be under water. This is a minor example of how things just work in this old campground. Same, same when you go to a doctor for surgery right? They cause a minor injury, we hope, so as to deal with a major injury or life-threatening disease. In the case of cancer they take a human near to death to try and kill the thing that will in most cases do it anyway.
