So don’t be thrown off in that you will hear this opening six times but each of the aforementioned topics will be discussed separate and apart from each other.

What makes you different from those who are not Christians? Just to head off the missiles I will say that it is not effort or works on your part. Now let’s see if we can answer that question.

I can guess that some of you might say “God is in you” of course right? Or, “I get to live in heaven with God” why yes that’s what makes me different. And for some you might say, “I don’t have to go to hell and that’s different enough for me.” But no yes, and that is not where I am going with this message. Getting to know God is one of the greatest privileges ever bestowed upon mankind. But even that has a set of prerequisites.

I should start this message with the age old kid response to the older brother or sister and that is: YOUR NOT THE BOSS OF ME. Ha 

I have had so many conversations with other believers, to get right into the message, that regarding honoring and obeying Church leadership they thought it was a volunteer option to do so. 

Some would argue to the point that they became very contentious about the whole subject. They get my trust and of honor if they prove they deserve it. I would tell them that according to Num 12 and 16 as well as Hebrews we should obey, honor, and cover with copious amounts of prayer and respect, those who have been placed in a position of authority over our spiritual lives. We who have been around awhile call it coming under leadership. God calls it submitting and obedience which if done so will lead you to know Him more and keep you out of His corrective gaze.

So to refresh your minds in previous messages we have chatted about God calling us gods, the great harvest loss, aborted baby Christians due to poor training on the part of us, the church, how our lives were re-defined upon being born again, your new family identity once you became authentically born again, some Kingdom stuff, and the lack of maturity in the saints today because of, and as stated before, a lack of training focus on the part of the church. The following is just some nibblettes for the cribblettes and for those of us who are to make disciples of them and for those who will allow themselves to be discipled. Who decides?

I don’t know if anyone else feels this way or if interruptions have become the normal way of communicating. I will move through this message as if that is not the case.

Have you ever heard the saying that that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree? Unfortunately, in this world of serious negativity and judgement we often hear it applied to someone who acts like or makes the same mistakes as their wayward parent.

Now this is not a message for the weak, religious or those that can spell and have a phobia of newly created words. And yes you would know if you are any one of these because “heresy” would fly out your lips like a hummingbird to nectar. Or maybe like an idiosyncratic fanatic. No…probably not that. 

Now the idea that God Himself calls us gods…

Fake like most of the news we hear. Wronger than a lie. Purposed to deceive. Almost correct. Barely detectable. Punishable by sin. What! Where are we going Ken. I am listing the “close but no cigar” efforts, albeit wrong and intentional, of peeps when it comes to flowing in the spirit without the spirit, or to those who believe but just not in their hearts. Yup it’s the many who will be led astray because like so many they thought they had time to get to know Jesus later, you know perhaps after they retire. 

Yes, no but see here, this message is multifaceted, chatting about losing your healing right after you got your healing, but even worse, the fact that you as an authentically born-again believer, don’t actually know that you no longer need healing. Ha, I know I got a reaction from the massive crowds listening, but really we are all in process and no doubt we want to know what I just said including me. It’s one of the best – give ear – give ear.

When 2nd Timothy 4:1-5 states that they will heap up teachers who tell them what they want to hear who do you think that the scripture is talking to? It is not talking to the unbeliever that doesn't want to stand in front of a teacher who is teaching them anything in regarding the Bible. It is talking to the other believers, you, me us. Can you hear the urgency from Paul to Timmy? Listen for it:

II Tim 4:1-5 - 4 I charge you [a]therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead (this is the believer and unbeliever) [b]at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. 

And to think I was just going to sail right by this scripture. So Paul is saying to Timmy hey man preach the gospel whether you feel like it or not, whether it is raining or snowing, and/or whether you are speaking as a young believer to a mature audience or young Christians.

This is a story based on the fact that we are born-again into the righteousness of God for immediate service. Yes there is spiritual maturity at play here but allow me to share with you that kids under the age of 10 were healing adults at the Azusa Street Revival. Oh go a head I’ll wait for the plethora of excuses as to why they could but you won’t, I mean can’t, or perhaps both? I say this to me as well because at 60-years old I still don’t have the healing ministry I thought I would have, and I am sure it is not because God isn’t done preparing me yet. Nope. It’s all on me. Yes, it’s the way that I think about God and my mental relational thoughts about Him and I. It is this that has kept me from flowing like one of those Azusa Street Revival kidletts. As I continue to plow through the authors of the world looking for the magic healer button, I have recently, like March 13, 2023 recently discovered that, I am not aware of what I am, now that I am born again. Now I have been born again for nearish 25-years, and most of the time I have been focusing on the horrible old sin man that I used to be. Ha and sometimes that I still am…and the listener lets out a big sigh of relief right. Look...

Ha, I know right. I suspect that parents don’t have these conversations with their kids before social media and school tell them a version that is all too often wrong and instills first of all a topic in kids minds that most are not ready to hear, and also in their learning from any other source other than from the Bible, that other source instills massive insecurities, and I know this because insecurity breeds insecurity, and if the teacher is dependent on the world for its knowledge on sex they have insecurities about it or a totally demonic view of it. Okay there it is. Yes the devil corrupts what sex should be and corrupts how you see yourself and he loves for you to compare yourself to other people. It makes it very easy for him to plant a whole field of insecurity seeds in your mind and thoughts.

This message started its life out as a 6-part series. This however makes it difficult for those who want the whole bite all at once. Well, so here it is six into one.

Sometimes I get so excited to get into a message that I forget to hang up the target before shooting. 

So let’s hang it…

Why a message on mission, purpose, goals, for a Christian walk, for your Christian walk? Why should you spend the extra time in your very all-consuming life to plan out what you think God is calling you to do in the short amount of time you have on earth? Do you know your talents and strengths that God has given you to carry out His plan for your life? That you complete His will with? Do you understand how your personality affects your daily interactions with others and how you can use that you move forward in the will of God? Do you have the gift of healing, prophesy, signs, wonders, miracles? You have been created for a purpose and God would not place you on this rock ill-equipped. I have seen way too many people try and cut wood before putting on the chain. Your chain is the special way that God has put you together. You know that the Bible states to take time to sharpen the saw (Axe):

Ecc 10:10 - If the ax is dull, And one does not sharpen the edge, Then he must use more strength; But wisdom brings success.
