Surprise, surprise not what I am referring too but nonetheless it seemed like a good hook. So this message is based out of Luke and includes an actual chat between someone in hell and a couple of guys in heaven. De-par-tation you know as I was preparing this message I was thinking in that very moment when the hell guy was looking into heaven talking with the fella's that it cannot but be a most miserable place to be, that as you are now locked into your choice for hell over whatever you left behind on the earth, how deep the regret must have felt. It is interesting that the hell guy never asked for a second chance. It was like he knew, though extremely regrettable, that hell was his choice. I personally just cannot imagine living in such a miserable place knowing that second chances no longer exist. Living with the absence of everything God created for the rest of eternity is at this point in my life unimaginable. Ok so but it was just a thought...enjoy the message and learn and burn for no other reason than for God.

I know, like I don't have to tell you that this is not a message about Tina Turner do I? But really if she knew about this message, she may want to rewrite her song the way it is currently written. Love has everything to do with anything that has to do with God. No love, not His. No love, not going to the spirit in the sky. No love, no idea what the Kingdom of God is like. 

There is a lot I do not know about the love of God. So much so that I probably shouldn’t have agreed with God to write this message. But if I don’t who will? No I really mean who will. Moses wasn’t let of the hook when God called him out of the desert land of I thought I was going to retire here, to a land that was all but too willing to take him out at the first glance of his shepardly mug. 

So but now I know that you want to listen to me babble on about one of thee most missed attributes of God today as not seen by many regardless of whether they believe in God or not. Love appears to have been replaced by unchecked emotions. Yup, don’t you believe it for a minute; love is not an emotion, but an act of service appropriate to the type of love that is in play. When done properly it can stir your emotions, but never allow your emotions to define what love is. No doubt we have all missed the boat with this one. Turn up the decibels and learn.

So there is a story about a discussion that took place in the fog. This version is written by Tom Wadsworth posted on DASMA in 2005. 

Plowing at night through rough, foggy seas, a battleship’s radar suddenly indicates an object directly in its path. The ship’s captain sends a radio signal, “We are on a collision course. Advise you to change course 10 degrees north.”

A response crackles over the radio: “Negative. We advise you to change course 10 degrees south.”

The captain can now see a blinking light from the approaching object. Perturbed, he bellows a reply: “I’m a ship’s captain. Change course 10 degrees north, now!”

“I’m a seaman second class,” comes the reply. “Advise that you change course 10 degrees south to avoid imminent collision.”

The captain is furious. He blurts another command: “This is a battleship! Change your course immediately!”

Back comes the calm reply: “This is a lighthouse.”

The battleship changed course.

 Who let the dogs out, who let the dogs out? So you might think after listening to some of these messages that I am thinking that I am smarter or more Christian than the listener. But this is not how it works. You see, when a healing man or women of God enters a town like a gun slinger, to bring the gift of God to those who would have it, then the Dr’s are going to accuse him or her of practicing medicine without a license because they cannot do what they can do. Their fear and now exposed insecurity causes them to act like little children. They have no empathy for the sick. They are just mad that their success rate pales in comparison to the Son of God. You must ask was it ever about the patient or money? And why aren’t they emptying out the hospitals and bringing every patient to the healing revival if it actually is about the healing of the patient? I mean if healing is the objective of both the Dr and of man why the conflict?    

There is conflict because we are not lined up with Gods will as a human race. I love it when some things are just so black and white. 

So I teach because it is a gift that God gave me for you. Yes, it’s in the message. He gave men as gifts to one another for one another. It is impossible that you are a born again believer and giftless at the same time. You either didn’t know, or you are lazy or ignorant of the promises of God. No way anyway howeverway that you are giftless. I have other messages that teach you how to discover your talents and gifts therefore you should give an ear to them because I did them and now am operating in some of them in this ministry. 

Oh but this message is about your humanity getting in the way of your spiritual growth. Enjoy.

Well that was fun! You always know when the devil doesn't like a message. But in his resistance to it, he is revealing its value and necessity. So regardless of how much extra time it took to post this one, you are worth it. Hopefully it has its intended results.

A.W. Tozer stated, “If the Holy Spirit was withdrawn from the church today, 95% of what we do would go on and no one would know the difference. If the Holy Spirit had been withdrawn from the New Testament church 95% of what they did would stop, and everyone would know the difference.”

This is not a message about the Holy Spirit but about what happens to the church when He is not running the show. There ae several other points that I intend to make to ultimately demonstrate why church zombies exist. If you have been with me a bit you know the message titles, although sometimes a bit strange, usually facilitates a mental data-dump whereby I can draft up a message just on the title alone. I believe God has left my personality intact while also requiring me to teach and thus equip the saints for the work of Ministry: 

Eph 4:11-16 - 11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the [a]edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

People don’t like you to touch the Holidays. They like the fanfare, the foods, cakes, and candy, the hope that family can come together willingly without disputes and drunken debauchery. Oh wait, where did that come from? Let’s not get started on the mountain debt that floods the whole earth. I know god stated he wouldn’t do that again. So but you see if we only look at the parts of the Holidays that we like then, well it’s like picking up a partially rotten apple and turning it to its good side and eating that. Wait Ken are you saying that we have become like that when it comes to our Holidays? Well I am saying more in this message and that is that I do not think those Holidays represent what we think and hope they represent. And in these days there is such a mixing between those who really know God and those who think they do but don’t have a clue, and then those who could give a hoot about Him or Jesus. I am not here to crush the dream of a perfect Christmas, I just want us to be cognizant of the fact that we shouldn’t give those Holiday’s permission to distract us from our pursuit of the one who in all likelihood would migrate to the mountains during these sacred events. You see in their current state if you took away the alcohol, the gifts, drugs, Holiday paraphernalia, and anything else that has nothing to do with what the holiday is supposed to represent then I don’t think anyone would show up. Now so you don’t think me such a downer of a person, I am into reinventing things. Just return to what those Holidays are really about and see if the One shows up.

So I suspect I might know what a Pastor feels like when he is about to bring a message that is surely to stir things up a bit. And of course that is because we are stirupable people, especially in these days where God has placed an unexpected demand on His Church and Bride to see if she is up to the task. Well, we know she is not there yet and for sure His grace will get us there, but only as long as we do not ignore how we ended up in this place, in the first place and why it happened. 
 
 But this message is not that! I love doing that...
 
 This message is about what has been going on well before the beginning of time and continues to and through today and will eventually culminate to its intended end when Jesus shouts "That's a wrap."  Why I said earlier that I know how that Pastor feels is so that when I tell you, you understand that although I might feel that way, I should move forward in His will at any cost including the off chance that I could be wrong. Yes I could be wrong or off in any message. That is the risk we take as humans when serving God. My thought is that it is better to serve and make mistakes along the way than to have never served and thus avoiding making any messaging mistakes. But now if I may be a friend for a moment, it would be a greater mistake to avoid serving God in the fear that you may miss it, that to serve in your humanity. Enjoy the message.

 No but it may not be about what you think. For sure it is not about judging you for your past sins and mistakes. If I started on my plate of sins I would not live long enough to get to yours so your meal is safe from me. :) 
 
 Then but so then what is this all about Kenneth Leroy Shelton, oh I just heard my mom's voice. It is about the spiritual implications when we get a divorce. It is about how our natural marriages are equipping us for a spiritual and eternal one. It is about how we give birth to some small part of eternity through childbearing. 

You want to take a listen if you are in a marriage, especially if you are in a Godly marriage and you are both running crazy for Him.

Ah yes and Gen X 'ers says I know where he got this saying. He has to have brothers and sisters because no doubt he remembers his mother belting this out whenever there was a habble scrabble among the kids in the back seat of the hot smokey car. You see I had to justify our behavior. We had big cars when growing up including a red Catalina Station Wagon. But oh was it hot in the summer. She tried to take my finger and she did take my front teeth.
 
 But no the message is about those of us who think this is possible while also growing into the image of Christ. Paul's head was handed to him even though he said to get along with all men if it were possible. Now we know what he meant. That he wants to battle satan through humanity as if the satanic peeps knew what was happening to them. No, we do everything to get along, but know that as you look more Christ-Like trouble will hunt you down to test you at every turn. But you know we got this right? Yuppy we do.
