The title of this message is Close But No Cigar. I suppose I could have named this “spitting in the wind after eating a can of sardines” but that title was less appealing although I think Sardines are quite tasty. I’m just not a spitter. Oh see there I go again with me stuff. Let’s move on to you stuff. 

There’s this way of thinking that goes something like this: I am a good person so God would never send me to hell with the likes of Hitler and Stalin. No way would he send me to dwell with satan and the 1/3 angels who fell would He?

Of course it's a play on words...that is unless Martin Luther also read the Bible. Listen on and see what it takes to get free from the bondage that you tell no one about, as you go home every night wondering what this life is for. Yes see what real freedom is and how you can get yours. 

Do you want to know why you can curse God? Do you want to know why you can reject Him, spit in His face, compare your sins equal to His payment to be free from them, do you want to know why you have a right to breath, to walk in His creation and do whatever it is you want to do with it – do you want to know?

You either have a living faith or a dead works faith, and if your works are to be found as wood, hay, and stubble I caution you to stay away from anything that has a flame until you correct that definition of your doing (1 Cor 3:11-15). But so that we don’t put the donkey behind the cart although I think he would rather be situated there, we move to the message portion of this message.  

 When I was a kid I always liked watching the Three Stooges. Perhaps it was funny that three grown men would act a kind of way. The eye poke was pretty amusing as well as concerning because I wasn’t sure if it was real or not. Well…this is an eye poke message but meant to be administered kindly, if in fact eye pokes can be administered kindly.

Sitcom? No…well yes but no this message is not about TV shows. I have heard it too many times not to address it. It being the statement, “What is the will of God?”  You can test this out by hitting the pause button and going somewhere, anywhere you can find a Christian, and ask them what the will of God is. Alright go ahead and make it more personal, ask them what the purpose of God is for their life? Ha now we see the roots exposed. Way too many of us Christians do not know the will of God, in part because we do not ask him or read his Word, so we end up taking small shuffly lil steps hoping to get it right…well whatever it is. Nope, nope, nope. 

We can know the will of God corporately and personally. He has outlined it in his Word. Now hold your donkeys for those of you that might be taking this to the next step already – provide me a moment to explain.

So we chat about Christians, authentic, the real-deal Christians getting along long enough to turn the world upside down. We are as effective these days as fireworks that are never removed from the box in order to be put on display. They were designed to be seen and so are we, but not in and of ourselves, but that He would be seen in and through us.  You did not join a religion, a set of rules, nor even a way of living, but a way of being, of existing, of behaving. Too have issues with one another shuts down the power and display of God and the Gospel. It is my prayer that you get this and begin to restore any infractions that would keep the power of God dormant in your life. Let's be filled, full, and firing on all Christian cylinders.

By the title you can tell I am speaking us'ins. To those who are or think that they have salvation all wrapped up. If you consider that only 50% of the virgins had it right, then you may be compelled to take a looksee. Jesus stated that narrow is the path that leads to life and there are few who find it. 
 
 Yes to Jesus is the beginning not the end.  
 
 Saying you are a Christian without any evidence that you are is worthy of a second listen. All of my messages are good but this one is good and important...and shareable and wearable. Ok so stop you know me I like word rhymes, that's the only reason I said wearable.

Is this where I get serious? Message 98? Nope, I try not to take anything serious, as I do what I am called to do sober-mindedly. Laughter is good medicine and I am funny, not at the, "I-should-be-getting'-paid" funny. 
 
 But this is an interesting perspective on God. It is because what I hear so much about God would confirm to the spiritually ignorant that every person born will be in heaven because God is Love.  But it is here that we must also recognize that He is also just. You see Christianity is not a game; not a religion, otherwise Jesus on the cross would be nothing more than a joke. I am for sure confident that God is not playing some masterful joke on humanity.  Based on what I have done myself, and have seen, read, and heard of what others have done, this stuff is anything but a joke. Let's look at a side of God that's difficult to understand but must be looked into least both ends don't meat!

So of course we know that dirt is alive because it produces all kinds of manner of vegitative fruitfulness. Isn't this why Jesus gave them and us the story about the condition of soil? It's a story right out of the Garden of Eden in which He placed Adam, red dirt, to tend to the soil in the garden so that it too would be fruitful and multiply. Isn't it like God to give us so many parallels from just one product which in this case it is dirt? 
 
 The seed reacts to the quality of the soil and produces henceforth. Not sure if that word fits but I like it so there it is. The Word of God is the seed that is sown into you, a person made from soil. Now but the quality of that soil is dependent on the quality of your relationship with God. If it is all living then it will over power the seed and dormatise it or kill it. If however, the soil consists of the living Word, water, and some dead stuff, namely you, then the harvest can stretch to 100 fold. See for yourself.

So if you are keeping up with my podcast messages you may be aware that God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit gave each of us gifts. The gift that I am currently operating in, in this ministry is the Teaching gift found within the fivefold ministry described in Ephesians (Eph 4:11-16). The following scripture is a gift that Jesus left us, but first think upon this. When I read this scripture and try and listen to what each word is saying. Oh the richness and depth of what it is saying. The absence of the understanding of what this is saying has no doubt led to the church condition today. What I think happens if you study anything like I did when I first began to blast through the Bible is that when you hit these scriptures you skip along the top of them never getting the revelation of what each of these positions means.

Darn it I did it again. What a crazy title. But stick around because it has nothing to do with hummm. Nothing. 

I have explained this in some of my other messages whereby it is mostly the titles that load me with all the information I need to develop the message. Without a title I struggle to write anything. 

But back to the title. I am not saying that we have or can have sex with God. Nope I am not. What I am saying is that as I did a study on the word “Know” in the Bible it brought up in some very key scriptures, which in fact tell us the very reason we were saved.  Once you get on the other side of the cross it is incumbent upon you to seek to know God.
