So here we go again with teaching on a marriage killer topic. Why we don't fight fire with fire is beyond me. We can all agree that if you bring a knife to a gun fight the odds are very lopsided unless you are Chuck Norris.

Before we role - question: is it not interesting that the most ignored subject in church is also the most abuses and twisted in the world? No don’t answer because you really haven’t had enough time to really think about what I just asked you.

We don’t have any problem discussing money in church which is where I think much of it belongs. Addictions, no problem, but chat about sex and how you can avoid the thousands of pitfalls that come with ignoring your sex life, and whalla the money goes out the door along with the raised in church prude that thinks that one topic should be left alone. Nope, not gonna do it. I have seen way too much carnage due to sexual ignorance, and it’s high time someone addressed the 800 lbs. gorilla sitting on the elephants back riding down the isle in a China shop in china…ok so maybe too far but you get the idea. If so then jump on the back of the Gorilla and be cautioned it’s going to be a hairy ride.

Is it really fair to call something repeating if it more like a different version of the same story? So why then should I share a different version of the same story if a version of the story already exists? Great question and it seems that the rule of a single version only fits with some artistic expression of which I think is the childhood stories than in most other expressions i.e. movies, music or dance. Look Little Red Riding Hood cannot change least we lose entire generations of kid-lings to the future history. And can you imagine in the broke up families one reading one version and another reading a completely different version to the same kid. Wow this could be an epic destroyer to red and the Wolf.

All kidding aside, repeating stuff is bible. Hello we have four Gospels. I think Faith is repeated 365 times in the Bible – now this can’t be because there are 365 different meanings to it, can it? Nope.

This story is not a ditto copy to another one, like the Gospels it carries over some of the same elements and includes some new stuff. If you have a clear understanding that Satan has kids and god has kids and you know how this came about, then absorb the new elements and grow thus bigger.

This message is about the value of reading your Bible, the steps for gaining revelation from the Word, and an example or two of what the maturity process looked like in the times of Jesus. If you have a Bible reading plan that is working then I would ask that you not toss it out. It is working or in other words you are growing from the exercise of reading and applying what it says the way you are studying it so why change. Changing your reading plan won’t make you more committed to change, you have to want to change. One of the most motivating things for me to want to change is to look at the difference between my life and the life of Christ. When I have loathed and gagged to googling enough, I am more open to allowing the Word to transform my thinking and being.
