On this show, I welcome Maya Roberson, a Ph.D. student at the University Of North Carolina, who focuses on Health Equity in Cancer Research. We discuss her recent publication “Premenopausal gynecologic surgery and survival among black and white women with breast cancer,” her experiences as a Black American growing up in rural America, what inspired her to join her chosen field, and how she became a Trustee just after graduating from Brown University in 2016.
