I had the chance to sit down with Tom Basson on Zoom recently.  Tom is the Co-Senior Pastor at Grace Family Church in South Africa.  This was actually for their podcast and goes with a sermon series they are doing called "Asking for a Friend".  But I thought it would be worth posting here as well.  In this episode, we talk about the damage the church has inflicted on so many people throughout history and sadly still continues to do so.

The doctrine of original sin claims that all humans are "born into" sin.  In other words, you are inherently flawed, inherently bad.  And it's that inherent sin that separates you from God.  God is forced to reject you because of it.  This doctrine is pretty central to all of Christianity.  But what if it's wrong!  What if you are - in the words of Genesis 1 - VERY good!  What if you never were separated from God?
