Isaiah calls Jesus the Prince of Peace.  So where is this peace?  It seems to me we are more divided than ever in 2020!  Where do we find this prince of peace?

"The Kingdom of God is like..." is the way that Jesus often started his stories.  He was trying to paint a picture of what the Kingdom of God looks like.  In this episode, we are looking at the story that Jesus told (called parables) about the Wheat and the Weeds.  I've always viewed this as a story about who's in and who's out of the Kingdom.  But perhaps its more about how we live and work and treat each other!  

When Jesus wanted to explain to his disciples and the people around what the Kingdom of God was, he told stories.  He would say, "this was what the Kingdom of God is like... once upon a time"  We call these stories Parables.  Today we look at the Parable of the Vineyard Owner.  

All of my life I've been taught, and I've taught that the Kingdom of God is the place where God rules and reigns.  But what if that's not really right.  What if the Kingdom of God is about relationships rather than hierarchy?  What if it's the place where love reigns - where grace reigns - where inclusivity reigns?  

What if we are reading Romans all wrong?  What if it's not about how I get right with God so I can go to heaven when I die?  That's the discussion on this week's podcast. You might want to pull out your Bible for this one!
