The question was posed….can you fire your real estate agent while under contract to buy a house.  I think that’s the wrong question…you may well be able to fire your real estate agent, but should you?

1.  You have framed the neighbor as mean so you feel justified in killing the cat.  If the neighbor was nice, how would you have handled it?  It seems like you just don’t want to tell someone you killed their cat.

We’ve had lots of stories where neighbor kills your dog…but what happens when you kill the dog out of safety precaution for their well-being?

1.  So, here we have a story, seen many times.  The neighbor, in this case, tries to poison two dogs.  He is charged.  Now, that doesn’t always happen.  In this case the dogs were in the owners yard, and there was no trespassing by the dogs.

1.  Know the location of the home you are going to buy.  It’s not enough to know the zip code of a home.   Home prices can fluctuate tremendously in a zip code.  You need to know the subdivisions and the houses almost at a street level.

1.  I did get a letter from the county once.  And I know one of my neighbors called.  I just don’t know which one.  It was a pretty silly violation anyway.  My own reaction was that I just don’t trust my neighbors…if I knew who did it, I would likely not go out of my way to help them anymore.

Thoughts:

1.  I look at someone’s driveway as their own.  It’s not mine.  I feel uncomfortable turning around in someone’s driveway and do what I can to avoid it.  I confess that I have done it on some occasion.

2.  I think there is an understanding of “reciprocity”  That is…if I am going to use your driveway to turn around, it would be more than appropriate for you to use mine should the situation arise.
