Allowing more power to be retained by the states and the people was key to the acceptance of the new system of governance established by the U.S. Constitution.  Over time, we have allowed a slow destruction of federalism that has stopped the ability of local solutions and makes those officials farthest removed from the people to control of more and more decisions with a dangerous nationwide, uniform approach that was never intended on so many issues.

With climate change advocates vilifying fossil fuels, while alternative energy sources prove unworkable, the United States is moving back into a position of energy dependence on foreign nations that seeks to harm our own citizens without any real scientific reason for the failure to rely upon our own natural resources.  Rather than preventing use of what energy sources can be found domestically, the focus should be on continued efforts to extract and refine those natural energy sources more cleanly and efficiently.
