The space industry is becoming increasingly commercial, resulting in dramatically reduced barriers to 1) selling your products to space companies, 2) manufacturing your products in space, and 3) serving your customers with data obtained from satellites. This means new business opportunities across various markets, both within and outside the space industry. It is often said that every company is IT because it needs IT to run its business and maximize revenue opportunities. Space is the new IT, and if you aren't integrating space with your business, you will fall behind your competitors. Put another way. Your business needs a space strategy just like an IT one.

Today's Guest Speaker: Ms. Colleen Gibney, M.S., M.A., PMP Colleen Gibney has served as the MRDC SBIR Deputy Project Manager for six years. The MRDC SBIR/STTR Office facilitates Defense Health Agency and Army medical SBIR/STTR efforts in partnership with DoD acquisition stakeholders. Before this role, Colleen supported MRDC’s SBIR/STTR small business performers as a Technical Assistance Advocate. Before coming to MRDC, Colleen served as the SBIR Program Director for ITAC, New York State’s NIST MEP center for New York City, and as the NSF Partnerships for Innovation Project Manager at the CUNY Institute for Software Design and Development. Colleen has been pleased to promote collaborative innovation through America’s Seed Fund since 2004. The Defense Health Agency (DHA) and the Army Medical Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are initiatives that support the development and acquisition of innovative medical technologies for the U.S. military healthcare system. Defense Health Agency (DHA): The Defense Health Agency provides medical services and healthcare support to the U.S. military forces, veterans, and their families.
