What is the purpose of your podcast? Are you just talking to hear yourself talk?
Hello and welcome to the Delaware Blogger Podcast. I'm your host Antionette Blake the DE Divah aka the Delaware Blogger. Every week I come to you with podcasting pointers that will help you share your mission and your vision just using your voice.
A new episode of the Delaware Blogger podcast publishes every Saturday at 10 am and if you wish to sponsor a show please send an email to me @ [email protected]
Now today's episode #348 is "What is the Purpose of Your Podcast?"
If you’re thinking about starting a podcast, you’ve probably asked yourself this question: What is the purpose of my podcast? It’s definitely a great question to ask yourself before you get started.
Jumping in on a popular social site isn’t for everyone, but if you have decided to expand your brand with a podcast, then think about the purpose of your podcast.
The purpose of your podcast is the foundation of your show. It’s the reason why you’re doing it and what you want to accomplish. It’s the driving force behind your show and it’s what will keep you motivated and focused.
Your podcast’s purpose can be anything from entertaining your audience to educating them on a particular topic. It can be to build a community or to promote a product or service. It can even be to simply have fun and express yourself.
No matter what your purpose is, it’s important to have a clear understanding of it before you start. This will help you stay focused and on track. It will also help you create content that is relevant and engaging and keep you from fading away after the 7th episode.
When you’re creating content for your podcast, it’s important to keep your purpose in mind. Ask yourself: Does this content fit with my purpose? Is it helping me achieve my goal?
Your podcast’s purpose should also be reflected in your branding. Your branding should be consistent with your purpose and should help you stand out from the crowd.
Finally, it’s important to remember that your podcast’s purpose can evolve over time. As you grow and learn, your purpose may change. That’s okay! Just make sure to keep it in mind and adjust your content and branding accordingly.
So, if you’re thinking about starting a podcast, take some time to think about your purpose. It’s the foundation of your show and it will help you stay focused and motivated.
Thanks for listening to the What is the Purpose of Your Podcast podcast. We hope this episode has helped you understand the importance of having a clear purpose for your podcast.

I don't know about you, but when listening to podcast sometimes the introduction will turn me off. I don't like profanity, alot of ha ha and hee hee giggling or loud background noises but that's just me.
The introduction to your show and to your episode is so important. The intro is what will determine if a listener will continue investing their time into listening to the rest of your show. Remember that you only get one chance to make a lasting impression so it's important to nail it quickly.
Remember my podcast episode, “Hook em and Book em”? You have to convince your listeners to invest their time and if you have failed to impress them with the introduction, you'll fail to capture new listeners and grow your show.
In this episode I am sharing the important topics that should be included when creating an intro to a podcast
Please feel free to leave a review and to share this episode of the Delaware Blogger Podcast with your family, your friends, your bae and your boo too ! Podcasts are a great way to get your message out to a wide audience. They can be used to educate, entertain, and inform listeners. But if you want to make sure your podcast is successful, you need to include a call to action. A call to action is a statement or request that encourages listeners to take a specific action. It can be as simple as asking them to subscribe to your podcast or share it with their friends.
A CTA or Call To Action is important for podcasts because it helps to keep listeners engaged and encourages them to take action. It also helps to build relationships with your audience and encourages them to come back for more. Without a call to action, listeners may not know what to do after listening to your podcast. They may forget about it or move on to something else.
A few CTA examples include:
Word of mouth is still one of the major ways that podcasts gain listenership, and that’s why including a request to tell others is still the most popular CTA.
When creating a call to action for your podcast, it’s important to make it clear and concise. You want to make sure that listeners understand what you’re asking them to do. You also want to make sure that it’s relevant to the content of your podcast. For example, if you’re talking about a new product, you might ask listeners to visit your website to learn more.
It’s also important to make sure that your call to action is timely. If you’re talking about a new product, you want to make sure that listeners know that they need to act now. You don’t want them to forget about it or wait until it’s too late.
Finally, you want to make sure that your call to action is easy to follow. You don’t want to make it too complicated or overwhelming. You want to make sure that listeners can easily understand what you’re asking them to do.
A call to action is an important part of any podcast. It helps to keep listeners engaged and encourages them to take action. It also helps to build relationships with your audience and encourages them to come back for more. By including a call to action in your podcast, you can ensure that your message is heard and that your listeners take action.
So take a listen to this episode to hear more about why and what you should ask your listeners to do after they hear an episode.

Are you looking for ways to get sponsors for your podcast?
Sponsorships can be a great way to monetize your podcast and make it more successful. But how do you go about getting sponsors?
One of the most popular ways to make money from a podcast is through sponsorships and advertising. This may take some time to attract sponsors, but with a high-quality show and dedicated following, you may be able to start attracting them within a year or two.
Another way is through affiliate marketing where you promote products or services and earn a commission on any sales. Building up relationships with companies that offer affiliate programs may take some time, but with a loyal and engaged audience, you could start earning affiliate income within a few month, which I covered in a previous podcast.
