Delayed Replay episodes

  • Season 3, Ep 19 - Gotham Knights (video game)

In that other universe where the Gotham Knights game got delayed, they're putting out promotional stuff in the lead-up to its release. So this is a great time to be putting out an episode on the version that came out a year ago in our universe. Starrapter and I talked about the characters, the gameplay, the twists, and more! And of course, spooky season recs, plus another email from Oliver.

  • Season 3, Ep 18 - Spooky Jack

This is the 100th topic, and you can kind of imagine the number 100 within the title Spooky Jack. This is a DreamWorks movie that got cancelled in that other universe but came out recently in our universe. Callum Hogan joins me once again, and we talk about the creatures, the young protagonists, and DreamWorks animated movies in general. We even give our spooky season recommendations! It sounds static-y in places every once in a while, but that just adds to the spooky atmosphere. Also, most of this was edited on International Podcast Day!

    Show Notes:

4:50 - Callum mentions Bee Movie here.

36:30 - At this point, Callum was talking about how the costumes were not too much of pop culture references.

  • Season 3, Ep 17 - Men in Black 4

This is episode 99 or 100, depending on how you look at it. Talked about 2015's Men in Black 4 with Jesse from Question/Possible Answer. The timing is great, given Tommy Lee Jones' recent birthday and Will Smith's birthday tomorrow. I also referenced Sly Cooper, which had a 20th anniversary yesterday. This even makes a nice prelude to a string of "spooky season" episodes, given what happens in the plot. Check out what happens!

    Show Notes:

20:30 - The other android's name was Walter.

33:00 - Fisher-Price Ready for School Kindergarten Full Walkthrough

39:15 - I realize the early 1990s TMNT movies were also live-action, but I'm sure people know I meant the very "meh" 2010s films.

    40:00 - McDonald's then and now meme

40:30 - Abandoned History of Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Studios, Florida

  • Season 3, Ep 16 - Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Nerve Negative

Vinny Tangherlini joins me to talk about Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning, Nerve Negative. We talk about how well this works as a final chapter to the film series, and just the absurd stuff that happens throughout. Give it a listen!

    Show Notes:

3:00 - I'm wrong and totally forgot that The Hobbit Part 2 was originally going to be titled There and Back Again.

8:40 - The Bing image of the Baltic Sea

28:40 - It was the James and the Giant Peach episode of The Old Kids Movies podcast. Came out on my birthday in 2020, weirdly enough.

  • Season 3, Ep 15 - The Flash

For reasons we get into within the first 10 minutes, this is an episode we were debating on doing. It's me and myself talking about The Flash film, which is definitely different in the Delayed Replay universe.

    Show Notes:

-Have also had experience reading some of the Rebirth era The Flash comics.

  • Season 3, Ep 14 - The Marvels

On this episode, I'm joined by Ms. Marvel cosplayer Leana Ahmed to talk about The Marvels. We spend the first half hour going into how we first got familiar with these characters and what we thought of Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel. And then the remaining hour is our recap/review of the new film. Give this fun discussion a listen!

    Show Notes:

5:00 - Captain Marvel copyright infringement lawsuit

27:40 - Quote is attributed to Leonardo da Vinci, apparently.

  • Season 3, Ep 13 - F Up to 11

This is the fastest Delayed Replay episode yet. Even shorter than the Fast & Furious: Crossroads episode from season 1. You could probably even listen at double the speed on your app. Greg joined me again to talk about this messy crossover with Jurassic World by way of Back to the Future. It's F Up to 11. Listen to out effed up it gets! (Probably not as bad as I just made it sound, but you know.)

    Show Notes:

  • Season 3, Ep 12 - Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

Returning to movies more recent for our universe, Greg and I talk about Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, somewhat of a sequel to Bumblebee set in 1994 in a timeline different from the other Transformers films (possibly due to time travel by the Fast & Furious crew). How wack does this get? Should one also watch it in "retro mode" to see the '90s TV show-inspired CGI? Listen and find out!

    Show Notes:

6:00 - Could not figure out what toys these were.

6:40 - Sounds like it was Transformers: Armada.

10:00 - Devastator was his name.

12:30 - Couldn't find anything about the Knights of the Round Table being previously connected to Transformers lore.

23:40 - Check out the Indiana Jones and the Lost City of Gold episode.

26:10 - If for whatever reason you wanna hear this Star Wars: Delusions of Granular episode from 2016, it can be heard on YouTube. What was I doing with my voice? Was I trying to be quiet since I had housemates? https://youtu.be/ADW6FMs3TTM

35:10 - For some reason, I didn't bring up that Paul Giamatti was also in the 2001 Planet of the Apes film.

36:10 - Check out the Spider-Man: No Way Home episode.

38:10 - Transformers: The Longest Commercial Ever Made

40:20 - Listen to the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse - Part One episode.

1:01:40 - I first heard this from author John Jackson Miller, who heard it from Dark Horse Star Wars comics editor Randy Stradley.

  • Season 3, Ep 11 - Men in Black Declassified

The info on this episode is classified... Okay, fine, so Jesse and I talked about another MIB movie. It's the 2008 prequel, Men in Black Declassified, which shows how the MIB started and how Agent K got involved. What better way to celebrate the 1997 film (other than actually watching that film)? Listen before you forget!

    Show Notes:

2:05 - "Based" on Know Your Meme

39:05 - Check out the Mortal Kombat episode, I guess.

Check out the other MIB episodes, as well.

  • Season 3, Ep 10 - Frank the Pug

Once again, we're talking about one of those weird Men in Black movies that came out in our universe. Jesse Bennett from Question/Possible Answer returned so we could talk about Frank the Pug. What was the plot of this spin-off? What do we think of the CGI? And what do we think of Scrappy-Doo? Listen and find out!

    Show Notes:

3:45 - Apparently Men in Black might be a movie within the animated series?

17:20 - Check out the Race Jam episode.

Speaking of Snoop Dogg, he was also in The SpongeBob Movie:  Sponge on the Run. Check out that episode.
