As we've seen before, in divisional rivalry games, all bets go out the window and the series could go either way.
Finally, a shoutout to all the Dads for Father's Day, with both Dads in each fanbase hoping for a series win.
Both squads had decent weeks but remain treading water in the standings as the Braves just don't lose. Gabriel is officially done with "Swaggy V"'s schtick, and Caitlin weighs whether a right-handed bat or another arm should be the bigger deadline priority. Plus, Gabriel explores parallels between the Knicks' current playoff run and some of the Mets' most memorable seasons, the Rivalry Corner revisits the 1973 "Ya Gotta Believe" Mets, Carlos Carrasco gets chopped, and the duo looks back on some of their favorite and most disappointing trades.
As we enter June, Gabriel and Caitlin wave the white flag on the NL East race. They relive some memorable no-no's and debate whether combined no-hitters really count. Plus: the looming CBA showdown, the 1972 season, Christopher Sanchez's historic run, and one of baseball's all-time hall monitors, Brian McCann, gets chopped.
Another frustrating week for both teams. Gabriel and Caitlin reluctantly break down the viral “Tarps Off” movement taking over MLB crowds, Trea Turner’s approach at the plate has Phillies fans losing patience, and Gabriel is just about ready to throw the paper bag over his head. The main segment looks at MLB’s growing gambling culture and whether sports betting is starting to erode the integrity of the game. Plus: a Memorial Day reflection, Roberto Clemente’s historic 1971 World Series, and Austin Riley lands on the chopping block.
The weather’s heating up and so are the boys! Gabriel and Caitlin break down a big week including comeback wins, Kyle Schwarber’s absurd home run pace, and whether the Mets’ youth movement is finally injecting some life into Queens. Plus: walk-up songs, Aaron Nola panic watch is officially on, the return of the P00P Series, Acuña gets chopped, and the rivalry corner looks at 1970.
Caitlin & Gabriel look back at the week that was as both teams try to dig out of their early season slumps. The Phillies are surging while the Mets continue their maddening one-step-up, two-steps-back routine. Could A.J. Ewing be the spark the Mets are looking for? Gabriel has a softball epiphany, while Caitlin urges fans to give Crawford time to develop. The main segment asks when it's okay to shut the game off, and the two relive the improbable comebacks they missed by leaving early. The Rivalry Corner revisits the 1969 Miracle Mets, and Death itself lands on The Chopping Block.
