Jenna is joined by extra special book club podcast hosts Adaeze Nwoko and Taiwo Sokan of Textual Deviants (@textualdeviants) to talk about a movie based on a book none of them have read, Donnie Brasco! They talk the mafia, Al Pacino's many good performances, and Anne Heche on Dancing with the Stars. Did you know Anne Heche was in this movie? She yells a lot. So does Johnny.

In a very special co-pod experience, Jenna is joined by Garrett Smith (@filmadelphia) and Dan Scully (@danscully) of I Like To Movie Movie (@ilike2movie) for Dead Man! They unpack Jim Jarmusch's sleepy 1995 film and celebrate Nobody as the hilarious hero he is. They discuss neo-noir westerns, Depp's simplicity, and Jenna gets a package delivered in the middle of the podcast.

Jenna is joined by Philadelphia Artist Collective Artistic Director, performer, writer, and director Dan Hodge to talk about the movie where Amber Heard and Johnny Depp met... The Rum Diary! They discuss how things can become toothless as they make the transition from book to film, Hunter S. Thompson's legacy, and Jenna laments the absence of Benicio del Toro. This movie proves that, while dedicating a film to a friend is a nice gesture, it's maybe not entertaining.

Jenna is joined by the multi-hyphenated talent powerhouse that is Ang Bey (@theangbee) to talk about the very confused Dark Shadows! They try to figure out if there is any connective tissue between the show in the 70's and this Tim Burton take, but have a hard time finding merit in this film. They discuss Depp's ugly wig, the truck loads of clown white that propel this movie, and it is ONCE AGAIN discovered that Tim Burton doesn't know any people who aren't the color of a sheet of paper.

Jenna is joined by circus artist and pizza youtuber, Terry Brennan (@terrencembrennan) to talk about the Hughes Brother's 2001 opus From Hell! They discuss the jump from graphic novel to film, the many terms used to describe ladies of the night, and the first recorded incident of Johnny Depp's vaguely British accent. Terry fell asleep during the movie at one point and Jenna can't remember what happened when he fell asleep, but Bilbo Baggins AND Hagrid are in this movie, so you know it was filmed in London.
Oh yes. And no matter how hard the early 2000's tried, a slow motion sex scene is still not sexy or artful.

Jenna is joined by Hot Property co-host, Stephen Richards(follow his dog on instagram @bb8_thecorgi) as he attempts to defend everybody's least favorite entry in the Pirate's franchise... Dead Men Tell No Tales! They discuss the lore of Jack Sparrow and his compass, Barbossa's hero arch, and the wet blankets that are Carina Smythe and Henry Turner. Steven has a tough time defending his thesis statement and they explore how this movie is an allegory for Depp's own troubles.

Jenna is joined by actor, creative, steering committee member of Black Theatre Alliance of Philadelphia, and badass artistic director of Revolution Shakespeare, Tai Verley (@lapetiteroi). Jenna and Tai talk Roman Polanski's very strange, hyper hilarious, film The Ninth Gate. Tai saw this movie when she was 16, which is too young to see this movie. Both Tai and Jenna only remembered the "lady in the wheelchair", but they discuss separating art from artist, Depp's smoking habit, and how unintentionally(?) hilarious this film is.
Moral of the story: Rich people are dorks.
