This 1981 descent is a LOOP Breakfast Club show at the Carnegie theater. It was also syndicated to Detroit. More people than expected have arrived. Buzz with the news, & a whoopee cushion is being used as the official sound effect to cue the network!

On this descent, we hear the last WLS AM afternoon show, and the first midday show. Steve & Garry had a very tumultuous relationship with management & staff at WLS. At the time, Steve & Garry were the number one rated afternoon drive show in Chicago.

It’s 1999, and Steve has had it with the lack of support in Detroit on WKRK for his show, so he pulls the plug- terminating syndication. We hear reactions, and ways they are messing up the show. Plus, tapes of Tom Leykis bashing Steve for what he did.

Steve & Garry are at Steve’s parents house for the Rose Bowl game. Roger & Carol Dahl are on hand with several of Roger’s friends. Rick Dahl is tending bar. The game does not go as expected but a good time is had by all with drinks, stories & fun.

Steve & Garry are once again in Pasadena for the Rose Bowl. This year, the University of Illinois is representing the Big 10 against UCLA. Steve discovers there are WAY to many marching bands! Janet Dahl, Roger Ebert, and others join the broadcast.
