We hear the term “International Community” used continually in the discussion of international affairs. Yet no one seems to know what the “International Community” really is. Do you know what it is? Does it even really exist?

Who formed the International Community? Who is a member and who is not? Is it supposed to be a world government? Or are we forbidden from using that term lest it send people scurrying back into the abyss of nationalism?

If the International Community makes the rules, as it seems to, then shouldn’t we know what this mysterious, nebulous entity is and who controls it?
