She studied Law and worked as the National Communications Manager for the Australian Stock Exchange, before starting Koskela with her partner Russel in 2000. Together they have created a successful furniture and design business, winning prestigious design prizes and attracting clients such as Apple, Google, and Australia’s leading law firms and banks.

As a Certified B Corporation, they have implemented an ethical agenda across all areas of the business. Sasha is especially passionate about Koskela’s social impact division, which supports and celebrates the work of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community art centers throughout Australia.

Dave is leading the development of Indigenous Fashion Projects (IFP) for the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation. IFP is a program that collaborates with Indigenous Australians working in textiles and fashion, with a range of development programs, mentoring opportunities and promotional events.

Dave is an experienced senior executive from the textile and fashion industry, working previously as CEO of the Australian Fashion Council, in new ventures and R&D at global outdoor apparel brand Gore-Tex and as CEO of Australian Defence Apparel. He also co-founded London based start-up fashion brand Frankly and led business development for smart materials technology company Imagine Intelligent Materials.

Tom Mosby (Torres Strait Islander) is Chief Executive Officer of the Koorie Heritage Trust, Melbourne. Beginning his career as an art conservator with the Art Gallery of Western Australia and later with the National Gallery of Victoria, in 1998 Tom curated the highly-acclaimed Ilan Pasin (this is our way), Australia’s first major survey of Torres Strait Islander art. Practising as a lawyer for 10 years, including Senior Associate roles in Melbourne and Brisbane, Tom returned to the cultural sector in 2009 as Executive Manager, Indigenous Research and Projects, with the State Library of Queensland.

At the State Library, Tom was instrumental in developing The Torres Strait Project, a cross art-form collaboration between Queensland’s key cultural agencies as well as the Indigenous black&write! Writing Fellowships and Editing Internships. Tom is the current chair of the Board of Directors of the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair and past Acting Chair of Bangarra Dance Theatre.

The first interview is with Jefa Greenaway, forum facilitator. Jefa is the founding Director of the award winning practice - Greenaway Architects (est. 1998), a University of Melbourne senior academic of two decades standing, and a regular design commentator on ABC Radio Melbourne. He’s championed Indigenous led design thinking for over 25 years as a registered architect in NSW and VIC, including as co-founder of Indigenous Architecture + Design Victoria (not-for-profit), as co-author of the International Indigenous Design Charter, and as Regional Ambassador (Oceania) of INDIGO (International Indigenous Design Network).

He is a founding signatory of Architects Declare Australia, an initiative foregrounding architecture’s role in tackling the challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss, is co-curator (with Tristan Wong) of the Australian exhibition at La Biennale Architettura di Venezia 2020/21 and was recently included in the Qantas 100 Inspiring Australians and was honoured to be inducted into the Design Institute of Australia’s (DIA) 2020 ‘Hall of Fame’ signifying an outstanding body of work, contribution to Australian design and/or achievement in furthering the profession. His projects include the Koorie Heritage Trust, the Lowitja Institute and the award winning Ngarara Place.
