Part 2 of the Girl Grit series features my mother, Sheri Lauterbach. This godly woman explains what it's like to work in the respiratory unit during the pandemic, lives she's saved, and having to pull the plug on people for a living. But it's not all gloom and doom; she also discusses what it was like to raise me (the most cantankerous child of all), Libertarian comedy shows, brewing beer together, awesome God moments, and her favorite comic book hero.

Season 3 premiers with a three-part series entitled “Girl Grit.” It features three incredibly important, godly women in my life. In part 1 I interview my beloved, gorgeous wife, Sara Lauterbach. We work our way through the story of how we met, her testimony in struggling with depression, and the life we have together now with children. She’s a nerd, you’ll see.

"Taking Back the Rainbow," is an article written by Nathan Elfarrah regarding the significance of every occurrence of the rainbow in Scripture. Our culture seems to have taken over that sacred symbol and claimed it for their own. Nathan and I discuss the importance of this Rainbow Covenant with creation in comparison to the reclaimed version which ostensibly symbolizes sexual diversity. I want to encourage you to listen to the interview in its entirety despite any disagreements you may have with the premise. This comes from a place of love, urgency, and glory to God.

This show has changed a lot in the past two years, and now you have the chance to see how it all began! Travel back in time to 2018 when things were simpler... and less organized. From out of the archives I present to you the original "first" episode of Despite Popular Belief, the unreleased prototype. While it was titled "Ekklesia," we probably only mentioned its true meaning once. The episode probably should have been titled: "The State of Modern Church and the Problem of Evil." It was good to hear former cohost, Erik, on this one as we stumbled into what would eventually become the idea for the actual public debut topic of the show: Alien Abduction.

Continuing our discussion on church history and Halloween, Calvinist Greg Hamilton, explains the acceptance of death and how, for the Christian, that is the best thing that could happen us. He also draws some insights on death from the Harry Potter franchise. We analyze the Halloween survey results you all submitted and address how some horror films were directed by Christians. What is the difference between horror films and war films, and why doesn't Greg even like Reese's? We had a blast on this two-part series. Happy Halloween!
