READ: LUKE 16:15-16

Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;

Isaiah 54:2

These words from the prophet Isaiah are telling us to attempt to create a larger tent. Attempt to build a bigger tent. Expect more people to occupy the tent. Expect to need a bigger tent to give a covering to a larger crowd.

The prophecy is clear for all who are interested in the visions of God. The visions of God tell us to enlarge our ministries. The visions of God tell us to expect great things and to attempt great things.

William Carey, the great missionary to India, is the one who coined these famous words, “Attempt great things for God and expect great things for God.”

The prophet gave the command to enlarge the tent and lengthen its cords. Why is that? Why would you have to enlarge the tent? Because you are expecting great things!

It is important for Christians to expect great things from God and to attempt great things for God. It is sad to say that many believers are not attempting great things for God. Instead of attempting great things for God, people are being side-tracked into business schemes and other ventures.

Attempt to do something great for God. There are many great things you can do for the Lord. A great thing is something that God calls great. Become interested in things that are great in the eyes of God. Become interested in things that are called “great” in the Bible. What is great to a businessman may not be great to a servant of God. What is called “great” to a politician may not be called “great” in the sight of God. Greater things can be done for the Lord.

THE DOVE

2nd February, 2022

READ: Genesis 8:1-12

And John bare record, saying, I SAW THE SPIRIT DESCENDING FROM HEAVEN LIKE A DOVE, and it abode upon him. And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him …

John 1:32-33

The Spirit is like a dove and is sensitive and particular. The dove will not settle on just anyone. The dove chooses people carefully. You may always wonder who the Holy Spirit chooses to work with. You may wonder why He does not use you but rather chooses someone you disapprove of. You may not like His choice but He has His reasons for whom He chooses.

The dove is not like a raven. When Noah sent out the raven, it just went and settled on the dead bodies in the water. The raven was happy to enjoy the dead and decomposing bodies of the flood. But the dove was too sensitive for that. The mighty Holy Spirit is sensitive. He does not accept just anything. He is very particular about whom He chooses and whom He works with. Please do not use your standards or ideas for whom the Holy Spirit should work with. He is very sensitive and He will choose where to go, what to do.

The Spirit is like a dove and has a beautiful and lovely voice. When you get to know the voice of the Holy Spirit, you will settle for nothing less. It is the beautiful voice of God that changes your life. If you have ever heard the voice of God, you will long to hear it again. What is the point of waiting on God if you do not hear His voice?

O MY DOVE, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, LET ME HEAR THY VOICE; FOR SWEET IS THY VOICE, and thy countenance is comely.

Song of Songs 2:14

Always remember that the voice of God is a beautiful voice. When you wait on God, expect to hear that beautiful voice of God. Seek to hear the voice of God.

He that hath to him shall be given. Faith is one key quality that pleases God. To succeed one needs among other things faith to believe in the reality of his or her dreams . Faith key to success

Be thankful to God and to His word. 🕊️
