This is a 2 pronged event...lots of Shenanigans!!!  

We bring you a whacky fist fight breaking out in the middle of the Civil War...sometimes things just have to get settled.  The stakes were high, the loser has to go with the winner as a captive to their respective side!!!  

Yes, a Union and Confederate soldier find themselves squaring off in a ditch...it spilled out into a clearing and the battle stopped to watched these 2 men sort out their differences fist to skulls style...a gentlemen's quarrel.  The fighting suddenly stopped to watch the dazzling engagement of 2 men hitting each other in the face...the winner takes all!!  As the famous Ron Burgandy said, "Fine, I have Tom O'Leary, and Jack Johnson waiting for you right here!!!"  

After the fist to cuffs, we head to WWII, where we find ourselves discovering the very true and baffling story of Operation Tracer.  A idea born out of sheer shenanigans...seemed like a genius idea...lets dig a tunnel, build a cave, then we will seal these 6 British lads inside to spy on the Nazi's from our secret bunker.  where, the side of a mountain in Gibraltar...why, well, so we can learn shit about our enemy without them knowing we are there...we will cut slits to peak out of.  We are looking for 6 volunteers, who's in?  Question is, would you go?   Oh, don't panic you will have enough supplies for at least 2 years... 

These 2 true to life stories are absolutely nutty...history is filled with stories of mystery and strangeness.  When you read stories such as these, you think well there is no way this is real...but it is...humans do shit.    

Grab yourself some boxing gloves, and a box full of MRE's...cause we are going into the fray!!!

To Ireland we go into the tragic story of Darkey Kelly, who was she really?  A brothel owner, yes, a murderer, maybe, a legend...definitely!  In Ireland in the 1760s, probably was not the greatest place to be a female brothel owner, or really any brothel owner for that manner...you see, being a brothel owner, sex worker, and a woman on top of that already made you a second class citizen.  

It's 1760s, you are a brothel owner arrested for murder...fair trial...sure yeah, good luck!  

In this episode we wander into the unknown, into the dark story of Darkey Kelly, into a time when unbelievable was believable...a man accuses of you of witchcraft and practicing Satanic rituals...yup, guilty!  For the execution, going to have to listen to find out those details of how Darkey Kelly died...it isn't for the faint of heart, would be a horrendous way to die...and a beer discussion breaks out...bound to happen from time to time!

At 99 years old, what will you be doing...statistically, most of us will be worm food by then.  Well...not Mel Brooks, at 99 years old he's making a second installment to Space Balls!  In June of 2026, he will be 100 years old...wrap your brains around that.  

But, what we learned about Mel Brooks is nothing short of amazing, he was drafted into World War II, in 1944.  He aced his military entrance exams, and became part of the combat engineer crew...yeah he cleared landmines.  He also fought in the Battle of the Bulge.  After his military career, he found himself in Hollywood and became one movie histories greatest comedy legends.  His movies still resonate today, creating some hilarity and laughter, but on the other side causes consternation among many modern film credits.  

In this episode we dive into some crazy Mel Brooks history, from his movie ledger, to his time in the US Army during WWII, and how he contributed to mocking of Hitler with a song from a foxhole on the battlefield with a bull-horn...truly a comedic genius!  Discussions of the sanitary state of canteens...

The military myth in policing began many, many years ago, reaching its pivotal moment shortly after 9/11.  The presence of a military mindset has always been present in policing worldwide, but reached its peak after that day in September of 2001...with the development of Homeland Security, and the war on terror began playing out in real time.  

Some say it started with the widespread training of how fast you can put on your PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to protect oneself from chemical weapons...yes that happened in the early 2000's.  Initial trainings were put on by military personnel around the US.  Others argue it began when police departments began reaching out to military units for guidance on tactics and training programs to help prepare line level police officers for the ultimate terrorists threat.    

But, make no mistake, military mindset in policing is not always a bad thing...we've seen some great leaps in policing adapting some military protocols.  In reverse, the military has said they have learned some things from modern day policing.  This ranges anywhere from tactics, fitness, procedural programs, to testing.  

We touch on training aspects, budgets, tactics, numbers, and more in this episode.  Throughout policing worldwide, criminals continue to elevate their network, and gain more technical advantages from firepower to computers...law enforcement worldwide needs to keep up!

Death is inevitable, a very sensitive and in some social circles avoid discussion of the topic entirely.  Well, if you are not sure where you stand on this subject then perhaps it's time to dive in head first...Euthanasia - A Death Way Out!  

In this episode we discuss the touchy subject of Euthanasia, no not pets, humans...assisted suicide, mercy killing, oh what a spicy soup!   The terms, the legalities, and the fantastical!  Should euthanasia be a common household practice?   

As it is said, everything dies, from the plants, animals, to all the humans on the planet at some point we will die.  What if you have a terminal illness, your death is  now in view...you are going to die...where does Euthanasia fit into this picture.  What if you are incapacitated, in a coma...what happens now?

We go back to 1987, a moment in time that captivated a community, and caused a firestorm of frenzy in Pennsylvania.  We discuss the sudden sad ending and suicide of Robert Budd Dwyer, a truly tragic story.  The story is surrounded by scrutiny, speculation, mistrust, and the high flying criminal charges to follow...and it is capped off with one evening in front of an already tense crowd of news anchors, onlookers, and journalists...to become the witness of a tragic death! 

It would reach an infamous level when in 1995 a band called Filter would release a song titled, "Hey Man Nice Shot!"  Tells the spiraling story of Robert Budd Dwyer!  

Warning, this story does not have a happy ending, it is a sad story, and many people watched a man take his own life...truly a horrible sight for his family, and everyone present...it would resonate for decades.

Well, it is that time again, episode 180, a Grab Bag Spectacular:  The Infamous Dead...we drop a grab bag special every 10 episodes!

Back to the haunts we go!!!  Lake Shawnee Amusement Park, considered to be one of the most haunted locations in the United States...a truly terrifying picturesque environment...as they say, very creepy!!!  

The place has been featured in several documentaries, History Channel, and other podcasts.  But is it haunted, built on top of a Native American burial ground...does that make it immediately haunted.  According to the stories and folklore, yes, that does lend to the tales of misadventure and death that has befallen this cursed place.
