Corruption, scandalous, and sheer weirdness...in this episode we find ourselves taking a walk on the wild side!  We tackle 3 notorious cops from around the globe. Our journey takes us to England, Finland, and France.  Throughout history from ancient Greece, to Rome, and pretty much everywhere in between.  It seems corruption finds its way into all shades of politics, government, authority figures and more.  

Join us as we take a walk with 3 men of the badge who found themselves on the wrong side of history, Jari Aarnio, Mesust Karakas, and Francois Stuber.  If you decide not to follow the rules, there are consequences...as the old saying goes, "Sometimes the badge can be heavier than the man (person)...not all can carry the weight."

In this episode we dive into the Other Strange Things, of Detectivery State of Mind and Other Strange Things...as we talk about Weird Science...no! Superman, the Man of Steel...and all that follows with him.  The Superman curse, legend or legit.  In this episode we fly straight into the life of George Reeves, a man who took on the roll of Superman in the late 1950s...his life ended in tragedy, or did it, lots of speculation circling George Reeves' death, and the circumstances surrounding it.  

Join us, as we dive into his life and career, and his death.  Although we may attack this topic in the Detectivery State of Mind way, we make jokes and laugh, we take suicide and mental health very seriously...this story has a very dark ending.  The George Reeves story does not have a happy ending...

Every so often in history, we are blessed with learning the existence of a true badass human.  In this episode we dive into the legend of Chang Apana, and some of the astonishing antics that followed him...amazing story.  Chang Apana was a police officer/detective in Honolulu Hawaii in the 1930s, his legendary life and career gave rise to the inspiration for the the fictional character of Charlie Chan.  Charlie Chan grew to huge popularity in the late 1930s and early 1940s, his story was told again in 1981...but the legend of Chang Apana lives on.  Not many people get to be the inspiration for a series of novels and movies!    

Chang Apana traveled and navigated the seedy Honolulu 1930s underworld, not with a sidearm, but with a bullwhip!  Yup, you heard that correctly, he did not carry a gun, he carried a bullwhip.  Apparently, he was quite good at it, and we here at Detectivery Studios, are not quite sure what might be more terrifying than facing an adversary who is legendary with a bullwhip!  Apana's exploits are stuff of legend!

Genius, the path to becoming genius can be a harrowing task...well, what if you have lived your life, been gifted with the powers of genius.  This ability has allowed you to bring forth things to the world, otherwise would have never been explored.  People celebrate your life, your contributions to the world are endless...then one day, sadly, it must come to an end...and well, you die.  

This, my podcast fans is exactly what happened to Einstein's brain, not only did Albert Einstein have a harrowing journey in his life, while his brain was still slapping around in his cranium...but then his brain continued to carry on this harrowing journey in a jar, for over 50 years.  Why you ask, simply put his brain was taken by a man obsessed with the powers of genius...we take you on the journey of Einstein's brain...snatched from his skull by pathologists Thomas Stoltz Harvey in 1955...man have we got a tale to tell!  

This is the crazy story of the travels of Einstein's brain after it was removed from his skull during an autopsy...airport security, cracker boxes, trunk of a car, Canada, and it just keeps going.  Grab your lab coat, a hot tea, and dive on in, this story gets freaking crazy!

Here we go stomping into history once again to bring you all 2 unrelated crazy stories pulled directly from the sometimes insanity of history.  These adventures are completely bonkers, and will make you say things like WTF, huh, they did what...its just kind a historical slap in the face!  

The 2 places you will find yourselves is in the chaotic streets of Cleveland in the late 60s, right after the Jim Crow Laws were abolished, dodging bullets during the Glenville shootout...then we jump over to Los Angeles in the 70s to tackle to Symbionese Liberation Army, for which we are all convinced inspired Cobra from GI Joe...we have no facts on this one but...man...c'mon!  Field Marshall General Cinque...Destro...really.  Then a brief introduction into the Patty Hearst kidnapping by the Symbionese Liberation Army!

Well, so we find ourselves once again mentally assaulted by the annals of history, wow, have we got a story for you!  The adventures of Adrian Carton De Wiart...he was a man on a mission.  He was shot more than once, survived 2 plane crashes, tore of his own fingers, lost limb(s) and fought in so many wars, it's kind of hard to say how many.  Decided to join the WWII war effort at the age 60...and so much more!  

Join us on this epic adventure, there is a love story, action, adventure, tragedy, and war...well, on the war part, we are not sure on the love story thingy.  He may have been in love with war, and just so happened to have been married twice.  Never the less, don't be surprised if at some point during this episode you have to reach up and close your own mouth...as this story is unbelievable!

Chicago was a bustling city in the 1920s, a mecca, a destination, the place to be, a spectacle to see for the country dwellers...and out of town folk.  But, well most people didn't have a vehicle, maybe you've never ridden in one before and you gotta get somewhere.  So, have a couple dollars you scraped together, how about catch a cab...sounds like a swell idea!  

Well, not so fast, we bring you the Chicago Taxi Wars of the 1920s, this shit was totally bonkers...craziness and mayhem.  It has everything, combat, bombs, stink bombs, war in the streets of Chicago, fist to cuffs, corruption, some mobster stuff, and maybe even a little romance, probably somewhere!  These cabs are the same as tanks right, sure, yeah!
