Rev. Solomon Kinloch Jr., who heads Triumph Church, appeared Friday night on the videocast Detroit in Black and White to discuss his bid for mayor of Detroit.
He was asked whether, if elected, he would continue to run his megachurch full time.
"I will be a full-time mayor of the city of Detroit, undisputed," he told the show's co-hosts, Adolph Mongo and Allan Lengel. "I will be a mayor 2.0. We have people, as we do now, who handle the day-to-day operations of the church."
"But on weekends, as my calendar permits, I will go to church, and if I’m there, I will preach."
He also spoke about what motivated him to run for mayor and shared his plans to improve the city.
