Sure and Stedfast

We have an anchor that keeps the soul,

Stedfast and sure while the billows roll,

Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,

Grounded firm and deep in the Saviour’s Love.

We are building day by day,

In our work and in our play,

Not with hammer, blow on blow,

Not with timber sawing so,

Building a house not made with hand,

Following Jesus' perfect plan,

Little builders all are we -

Building for eternity!

The Angel Gabriel prophecied of John the Baptist to his father:

And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God. And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias (Elijah), to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. Luke 1:16-18

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be that go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7. 13/14.

The thief on the cross turned round to his wicked neighbour, — grace had opened his eyes and opened his heart, and saved his soul, — and he said, "Dost thou not fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing amiss." Then he said unto Jesus, "Lord remember me when thou comest in thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in Paradise."

And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the Lord of hosts.
