I remember as a kid making up different clubs with friends and cousins. Sometimes we'd have secret handshakes or code names. Many times, the kingdom of God is seen as this exclusive club for the narrow-minded. That's not my take away from Scripture. The kingdom of God is entirely inclusive - whoever wants to come may come. The Apostle John says it is comprised of people of every nation, tribe, and language. There are much diversity and inclusivity. There is one door to come into the kingdom - Jesus Christ.

Philip Diehl created the oscillating fan in 1907. This invention was a great leap forward in the search for cooling mechanisms. The oscillating fan is a brilliant invention, but it's not the way God wants us to live our lives. Frequently, we find ourselves oscillating between two extremes. God calls us to himself. Instead of falling into the trap of self-reliance or drowning in the pit of anxious despair, trust in the Lord!

There are more than 2,000 billionaires in the world. This group has a cumulative wealth of more than $8 trillion. All the wealth in the world pales in comparison to the richness of God. He owns it all and bestows it all on his creatures. God is rich in many ways, one of which is mercy. The Bible tells us that God is rich in mercy. You never have to wonder if there is mercy in the bank with God. You can always come to him by faith, and he will forgive and welcome you home. He is rich in mercy, and he loves to lavish it on any and all who come to Him in faith. Come to him today!

Stories of tragedy to triumph are universally beloved. There is something in our hardwiring that longs for wrongs to be made right and for beauty to come from ashes. Our God specializes in the impossible, so the people of God can be a people of hope. We have hope that God will make all things new, that he brings death to life, and hope instead of despair. Ezekiel was given a vision that produces hope. We all need a little hope today.

You've heard it said, "All good things come to an end." This sentiment was true for Yankees great Joe DiMaggio in 1941. Joe had collected a base hit in 56 straight games that summer until a July game with Cleveland left him hitless for the first time in nearly two months. Now finished was the hitting streak that had captivated the nation's attention. Thankfully for us, God is constant and unchanging. The Psalmist wrote, "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever." Nothing we can do can stop God's streak of his steadfast love. It endures forever. It is grounded in his character. And for that, we give thanks!
