The Truth

Acts chapter 14 finds Paul and Barnabas continuing to extend the reach of the gospel. At each stop, their ministry pattern was similar to their process in Pisidian Antioch.

They would visit the synagogue and preach God's gift of Jesus to both Jews and Gentiles. Then they would see a mixed response which then brought opposition.

In Lystra, they went from being seen as gods one minute to Paul suffering his first stoning the next minute.

Paul survived of course and the ministry continued as they came to Derbe and returned to the cities where they had ministered earlier.

The Task

In Acts 2, Peter preached a miraculous sermon at Pentecost. In some ways, Paul's sermon in the synagogue of Pisidian Antioch paralleled Peter's sermon.

Paul preached to a crowd of Jews and Gentiles, but his sincere desire for both groups was that they would hear the gospel and embrace the salvation provided by Jesus the Messiah.

We still live in a confused culture with so many voices trying to lead people down one path or another. In this chaotic context, Jesus calls Christians to share His gospel with anyone who will listen.

Some will reject Jesus, while others will accept their newfound faith.
