Blood Rage (1987)
Directed By: John Grissmer
Starring: Louise Lasser, Mark Soper, Julie Gordon, some fucker named Brad
Maybe you know it as "Nightmare at Shadow Woods" or "Slasher" (real original name there), but we're talking about the 1987 film Blood Rage, which takes place around American Thanksgiving - a pair of young twins get up to twin stuff, you know, like murdering some dude at the drive in. The bad one blames the good one and the good one goes away. But now it's 10 years later and the good one is getting out, so is there hell to pay? IMDB describes this movie as: "A boy kills a man and accuses his twin brother of the murder, and the innocent brother ends up institutionalized, while his psychotic twin goes free. 10 years later, the innocent twin escapes, which triggers his brother into killing again."
Something something something, a weird relationship with the mother and hilarity ensues.

New York Ninja (2021)
Directed By: John Liu, Kurtis Spieler
Starring (The Voices of): Don Wilson, Michael Berryman, Linnea Quigley, some other kung fu fuckers
New York Ninja is a movie that was originally shot in 1984, but for whatever reason was lost... Until 2021, that is. Vinegar Syndrome found this movie, and hired an editor to painstakingly go through 8-9 hours of film to cut together a cohesive (kinda) story and hired voice actors to play the parts, since the original film lacked sound. IMDB describes the movie as: "Originally shot in 1984 and not finished until 2021, New York Ninja is about a sound technician for a news station (John Liu) who becomes a vigilante ninja in New York City after his pregnant wife is murdered."

Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)
Directed By: Tommy Lee Wallace
Starring: Tom Atkins, Stacey Nelkin, Dan O'Herlihy and some mushy faced pumpkin fuckers
Rounding out this Horrorween, and on a very special Halloween episode, we're joined by the one, the only, BP from the Let's Talk Horror Channel. We have a little sit down to discuss the finer points of what some might call the BEST film in the Halloween franchise (even if it doesn't have much to do with that guy in the old Bill Shatner mask). IMDB describes Halloween III as: "Kids all over America want Silver Shamrock masks for Halloween. Doctor Daniel Challis seeks to uncover a plot by Silver Shamrock owner Conal Cochran."

Basket Case (1982)
Directed By: Frank Henenlotter
Starring: Kevin VanHentenryck, Terri Susan Smith, Beverly Bonner, some other baskety fuckers
Our second dive into Frank Henenlotter's weird and wonderful cinematic universe. Following up from Frankenhooker, this time around it's Basket Case. We can't do it justice here so let's just let IMDB tell you about it here: "A young man carrying a big basket that contains his extremely deformed, formerly conjoined twin brother seeks vengeance on the doctors who separated them against their will."

Creepshow (1982)
Directed By: George A. Romero
Starring: Hal Holbrook, Leslie Nielsen, Adrienne Barbeau, some handsome Frankenstein looking fuckers.
Sean can chalk this up to one of his most terrifying early memories, and John's a big fan of Fluffy, but this George Romero directed, Stephen King written horror anthology has a few tricks up it's sleeve. IMDB describes it as: "Five grisly tales from a kid's comic book about a murdered father rising from his grave, a bizarre meteor, a vengeful husband, a mysterious crate's occupant, and a plague of cockroaches."

Night of the Demons (1988)
Directed By: Kevin Tenney
Starring: Cathy Podewell, Alvin Alexis, Hal Havins, some other fucker that John is in love with.
Some people would argue that this is the quintessential 80s horror movie, others might argue that the pacing is a little off, but no one would argue that this is the halfway point already of our Horrorween series for 2024. IMDB describes Night of the Demons as: Ten teenagers party at an abandoned funeral parlor on Halloween night. When an evil force awakens, demonic spirits keep them from leaving and turn their gathering into a living Hell.

Deadstream (2022)
Directed by: Joseph Winter, Vanessa Winter
Starring: Joseph Winter, Melanie Stone, Jason K. Wixom, barely any other fuckers.
The next movie in our Horrorween 2024 extravaganza is a cornucopia of douchetuber activity. Would you stay overnight, alone in a decrepit farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, self sabotaging any efforts to get the hell out of dodge? The "Wrath of Sean" ain't afraid of no ghosts, or is he? IMDB says about Deadstream: "A disgraced internet personality attempts to win back his followers by livestreaming one night alone in a haunted house. But when he accidentally upsets a vengeful spirit, his big comeback event becomes a real-time fight for his life."

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
Directed By: Wes Craven
Starring: Heather Langenkamp, Johnny Depp, Robert Englund, this other fucking guy that's in just about everything.
IT'S THE START OF HORRORWEEN 2024! We're kicking it off with good old Scary Terry himself - the one and only Fredrick F. Krueger who's come to terrorize you in your dreams with a knifed glove! Listen to us break this movie down on it's 40th anniversary year. Here's what IMDB has to say about A Nightmare on Elm Street: Teenager Nancy Thompson must uncover the dark truth concealed by her parents after she and her friends become targets of the spirit of a serial killer with a bladed glove in their dreams, in which if they die, it kills them in real life.

Playing with Fire (1985)
Directed By: Ivan Nagy
Starring: Gary Coleman, Cicely Tyson, Ron O'Neal, some other fighter setting fuckers.
Prepare for John's Saltiest take of all time. In the 80's Gary Coleman could do no wrong - he was the star of a little show called "Diff'rent Strokes" and he had been merchandised to hell and back, but as a child actor aging up, he was trying to get into more serious roles. What better way to do that than to play 'young teen' pyromaniac David Phillips. IMDB has to say "Made-for-TV film starring a not-so-young Gary Coleman as a teenage arsonist. The authorities, friends, and neighbors warn his absentee parents until it is too late."
