In 2006 Kate McGoey-Smith went from a high energy mom of three to barely being able to get out of bed. She was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, a rare disease called Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, became blind, and her kidneys started to fail. After years of suffering, she finally found the documentary, “Forks Over Knives.” She was only supposed to live 2-5 years, but says she beat the odds with a whole food plant-based diet.
