Host: Joni Aldrich Guest: Dr. Linnea Chap (UCLA School of Medicine) Topic: Paget's Disease of the Breast Info: Paget's disease of the breast is often confused with other skin conditions, such as eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis, making it a very dangerous type of breast cancer. Misdiagnoses often lead to delays in appropriate treatment. Misdiagnosis is more common when both breasts are affected, and no lump in the breast is detected. The underlying message? A rash may not be just a rash. Be aware of your body and it's largest organ--the skin-- and everything that is going on in your body. If you think something is wrong, keep going until you get a complete, accurate diagnosis!
