We all know what it feels like to be the one to go first, it's like giving a presentation first in front of your peers. However going first opens the door to an abundant amount of opportunities worth mentioning such as, pushing you to be your best self, getting out of your comfort zone, sparking new ideas, and demonstrating leadership qualities to name a few. I’ll Go First is 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding and supporting mental health and trauma recovery care in underserved and vulnerable communities around the world using storytelling and mobile technology. Being a new mom can be all kinds of emotions!! Then factor in any past trauma that stirs up pre determined biases such as todays topic "Breastfeeding". In 2006 I delivered my first child and remember not even considering breastfeeding for a few reasons, one being that I was afraid it was bad given my history of childhood abuse. It wasn't until my big sister who is our guest this week, a Registered Nurse, Child Birth Educator, and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant educated me to why I might want to reconsider.
