Dear Diary,
Some days feel heavier than others. Today, I’m wrestling with uncertainty. I don’t know where I’ll sleep tomorrow, what challenges I’ll face, or how the pieces of my life will fit together. It’s hard to make commitments when I feel like I’m walking on a path I can’t see.
But then I remember manna—the bread God gave the Israelites each day after freeing them from Egypt. They didn’t know the entire journey ahead, but God faithfully provided what they needed, day by day.
I’m learning that trusting God doesn’t mean I have to have all the answers. It means taking each step in faith, knowing He will provide what I need when I need it. My feelings of fear and hesitation are real, but they don’t have to control my actions. God’s purpose for me is bigger than my uncertainty, and His provision is enough for today.
Scripture:
“And the people of Israel said to them, ‘What shall we eat?’ Moses said to them, ‘It is the Lord who gives you bread from heaven to eat.’” — Exodus 16:15 (paraphrased)
Devotional:
There are seasons in life when the unknown feels overwhelming. You may not know where you’ll sleep tonight, what tomorrow will bring, or how your plans will unfold. These uncertainties can make it hard to trust God or to commit to His call on your life.
But remember the story of manna. When God delivered the Israelites from Egypt, He didn’t just free them from slavery—He provided for them each day. They didn’t have a map for every step or a guarantee for the future. What they did have was God’s faithfulness, delivered one day at a time.
Like the Israelites, we are called to take life moment by moment, trusting God to supply exactly what we need when we need it. Commitment isn’t about knowing the entire path—it’s about trusting the One who holds the path in His hands.
It’s normal to feel discouraged, but let today’s manna remind you: God is your provider, your shelter, and your guide. You don’t have to have all the answers to walk in obedience. God’s provision will meet you where you are.
Encouragement:
You are not alone. Even when tomorrow feels uncertain, God is already there, preparing what you need. Take your steps in faith, even if they’re small, and allow God to show you that His promises are enough for each day.
Journal Prompt:
• What areas of your life feel uncertain right now?
• How can you trust God with the “tomorrows” you can’t control?
• Write a prayer asking God to help you lean on Him day by day, just like the Israelites relied on manna.
Prayer:
Father, help me to trust You even when I don’t know what tomorrow holds and can’t see the road ahead. Teach me to depend on Your provision each day and to take steps in faith, trusting that You are guiding me even when it feels uncertain. Strengthen my heart to release fear and embrace Your daily goodness and guidance knowing You hold me tomorrow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
