After 21 days of daily conversation on the topic of race, Kianga and Rachel share the three truths that have emerged for each of them as a result.
As the 21 days of conversations come towards the end, Rachel and Kianga begin to draw some conclusions about what their experiment has shown them. Today is about the difficult truths.
Finishing up yesterday's conversation about the cost of inclusivity, what emerges is the sense that systemic change and individuals (cells, as in the parts of the system) must change in tandem with each other. One or the other won't work; it must be both.
Rachel and Kianga answer a reader question today about how best to move forward with inclusivity, and what are the negative consequences to be on the lookout for.
Going deep into the muck and minutiae isn't the point of all this...so where do we really want to go? What's available to us when we're willing to get down and dirty with the tiny pieces to create something new?
Today we look at being in conversations where anger is present and how to identify your location so you can respond accordingly. Allies and PoCs have different roles here, and they require a lens of awareness around the trigger, and whether it is a past or present trigger.
Today Kianga and Rachel take on reader questions.
Have White people fully taken on their part of the responsibility of creating racial equity, or are they just sitting back and listening? Rachel and Kianga dive into what they are seeing and feeling, and why the lack of urgency is significant.

Kianga shares about a thing she's seeing bubble to the surface rather quietly, but that when it actually does surface, feels like there will be significant impact.

Deepening intimacy around race requires going slow. Today Kianga and Rachel revisit a part of a conversation they had yesterday where there was potential for their connection to contract. And what was learned as they slowed down was really an important moment for both of them.
