A Year in Monsoon Jungle brings together two Dicey Stories series, Alpha Centauri: Chronicles of Chiron and Cozy Farming. Today we have the first season, knock 'em down.

Seeking a simpler life away from Dome politics, Fritz and Mariah settle down at an abandoned farmstead along the edge of the Monsoon Jungle.

Our six seasons were derived from the calendars of the Larrakia people and the Gundjeihmi people of the area around Darwin and Kakadu in Australia’s Northern Territory. References:

Corazon “Hypercor” Santiago uses the new network node connection between Data Haven and the Domes to uncover some of what Nwabudike Morgan has been up to since his fall from power.

In today’s session, we work through a network encounter using the rules from the Android: Shadow of the Beanstalk Genesys setting book.

We played this Hackathon after we played Fritz’s investigations at Morgan’s secret dome, so we both knew what Corazon would uncover here. Mariah and Cleve experience planetfall for themselves.

Thank you so much for joining us on the journey across Alpha Centauri!  I’d also like to thank our amazing players, whose calm and reasonable characters foiled many a plot.  As a GM, it’s been a delight to be part of such a character-driven narrative.

Although this marks the end of our Chronicles of Chiron Genesys campaign, over the next several weeks we’ll be sharing some additional adventures from this setting that we played after Cleve’s and Mariah’s ended, some using other RPG systems. I learned the term Umwelt from the book An Immense World by Ed Yong. If you have any interest at all in how creatures perceive their world (including humans), I heartily recommend it. There are chapters on the five senses you already know about, but also ones on heat, vibrations, pain, magnetic fields, electric fields, and more. Did you know humans can learn echolocation? It’s a brilliant book.

A newcomer unexpectedly lends a hand stabilizing Exocraft I.
