Apple TV+ and Anonymous Productions introduced this dark comedy based loosely on Emily Dickinson's youth in 2019. Its anachronistic gestures, metaphors, and modern musical drops immediately drew out fans and made the late 1850s feel a lot like the 21st century. In season 2, Dickinson (Hailee Steinfeld) finds herself haunted by the fears of notoriety and retaining a relationship with her best friend/ex lover. Also, Iron Fist now publishes a newspaper.
