Did you ever wonder what football coaches call things and and why? Do you know what an ATR is? Or a PBH? A Cuban? How about a Sandwich Eater? No? Then this episode is for you.
I'm going to explain to you what all of those are, along with a few other terms and give you some advice on which of those things you want to be. It'll be a fun learning experience!
How do end that parent meeting (or any meeting) that's going nowhere? I've got the answer for you here while also telling you humerous stories of past meetings with crazy parents. While this advice is aimed primarily at coaches and teachers, it's good advice and good fun for anyone.

How the hell do coaches come up with the ridiculous names for special plays? In this episode, I tell the stories behind the naming of some of my favorite special plays and introduce you to the Colonel--a guy who ran a local country store that became an afternoon hangout, talk about a real life Chuck Norris, and show you how something can work every f'ing time.
This is the story of a coach I worked with in the 1980s and 1990s. It includes his explosive videos, his concrete block that kept students awake, and his method of showing me someone didn't belong in his group. Story of classroom and football and I think you'll find it funny
The two primary stories are about parents with money, one in which I encounter two good ole boys with unexpected cash, and one in which a parent takes things a little too far. But I will also talk about tobacco and football, my high school coach's attempt to make gatorade, and about makeshift press boxes.
This is a teaser for the "How Not to Get Yourself Fired: Dealing with the HR Joe Friday" from the "Did I Ever Tell You About...." podcast. This is advice I was given by a principal on how to keep the job he just hired me for. It is great advice for young coaches of any sport
I told the story earlier of McBee, SC, where I one coached, being a speed trap. McBee is back in the news, with the speed trap being part of it. So here I retell the old speed trap story from the late 1980s and then update it with what's happening now! A disagreement between an officer and the town mayor over text messages related to catching speeders! See what you think. I honestly don't know! No football, just small town drama!
