Ever heard a joke and wondered, “Did That Really Happen?”
My name’s Niall Mackay, host of A Vietnam Podcast and a comedian... long before I ever started comedy, when I heard comedians tell the craziest, funniest stories I would always wonder just that. And if I got a chance to meet them after the show I would always ask “Did That Really Happen?” … and 9 times out of 10 the answer was “Yes!”
But the difference between sharing a story with friends and telling it on stage is a comedian’s ability to take those moments and craft them into a well worked joke. In each episode of this podcast we’ll talk to comedians from around the world, play you one of their jokes, then ask them, “Did That Really Happen?
Originally from the US, Erica started comedy after going on her first Tinder date to a comedy show and realizing she needed more laughter to compensate for her depressing day job of saving the world’s forests. She has been performing both improv and stand-up comedy in Bangkok since 2019, where her comedy focuses on the daily loss-of-face and other moments of stupidity suffered by all foreigners that live in Asia.
Listen to her joke and find out... Did that really happen?

Seven Million Bikes recently hosted Paul Villanova from Hanoi for One Night in Saigon. It was an amazing sold out show. And if you haven't already go back and listen to episode we. He let us share the whole thing. It was an amazing night of comedy.
We also had support from Ankita Ghosh. Ankita has graciously allowed us to share the audio from her set that night.
Like many things in her life, Ankita is a work in progress comic. She hails from Kolkata, India, where she learned to ask uncomfortable questions about everything. At her day job in advertising she tries to sell stuff, and as a comic at night she tries to hurl insults at those who buy, but in a funny way. Or not. You'll find out

Hanoian based comic Paul Villanova was in Saigon for ONE NIGHT ONLY! He wowed the crowd with 45 minutes of gold. Supported by Wanye Westt, Ankita Ghosh and hosted by Seven Million Bikes' Niall Mackay.
Listen to the full show here...
Paul Villanova (AUS)
Paul was a tradesman in Australia who moved to Vietnam to be a professional basketball coach but over 3 years later(thanks COVID19) finds himself performing & running comedy shows, doing voiceover work and playing dungeons & dragons.
He has sold out shows in Hanoi, performed all over Vietnam, in Hanoi, Dalat & Saigon and was lucky enough to be part of “Comedy Oi” Vietnam’s first comedy festival.
He tells stories of his own failures(there are many), what it’s like to change your life completely in your 30’s & what mild success in Vietnam is like.
Host
Niall Mackay (SCO)
As the founder of Seven Million Bikes Niall Mackay has been entertaining people since 2019 through the shows A Vietnam Podcast and Did That Really Happen?, hosting comedy shows and performing across Vietnam.
Inspired by his comedic heroes, Billy Connolly, Bill Hicks and Ricky Gervais he'll make you laugh at being a Scotsman abroad, life in Vietnam and anything else in between.
“Niall wins his audiences over with a charming presence and funny jokes and songs! He has a hilarious point of view as an expat and world traveler!” - JK Hobson
