Digital Days Gaming

We have a huge episode this week because Microsoft has purchased Activision Blizzard! The makers of Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Starcraft, Spyro and Overwatch are now part of Xbox Studios. So we spend quite a bit of time on the subject from our reactions to the news, what we think this means for the future of gaming and if PlayStation needs to respond.

Days before Christamas and Dave and MJC gather for their last podcast of the year. There’s not much news to discuss outside of Embracer Group acquiring Dark Horse Comics and Ubisoft announcing a new Splinter Cell.

We follow the news with a spoiler-free discussion on Spider-Man: No Way Home and what games Dave and MJC are trying to knock out before their Game of the Year discussions.

In #AskDigitalDays we turn to the audience and field several questions about Christmas, Project Spartacus’ lack of Vita content and more.

This week on Digital Days Gaming, Dave and MJC discuss the possibility of PlayStation making an Xbox Game Pass competitor. The rumored service will be tiered with a possible deep back catalog of games. Will this service work and does it interest them?

In Playing and Watching, MJC started Life is Strange True Colors, Hot Wheel Unleashed and Dave continued Guardians of the Galaxy and dabbled in Bungie’s 30th Anniversary.

Dave and MJC have come out of Thanksgiving/Black Friday alive and it appears the gaming industry is still on holiday, but there’s still some cool news. Including the resurrection of PlayStation Home and other PS3 games, CD Projekt Red narrows down a release window for Cyberpunk 2077 on current gen consoles and there’s rumors of a Marvel MMORPG in the works.

We’re still playing Guardians of the Galaxy and Halo Infinite, but some new games as well including Death’s Door and some from our Black Friday gaming hauls.
