Base is an international design agency that was founded in 1993 in Brussels by Dimitri Jeurissen and two of his partners.

As of today, Base has creative led studious in Geneva, Brussels, New-York and Melbourne. Over 26 years this agency worked with world-renowned brands, foundations and companies, such as Pantone, IFM, Art.Brussels, MOMA, Foundation Louis Vuitton and NASA.

We had a pleasure to sit down with Derek Wallis, CEO of Harlequin Group of Companies (harlequin-design.com). Being one of the most prominent ​Commercial & Retail Design Agencies, they have a vast experience of working in the big leagues. Coach, Armani, Burberry, and Harrods are just a few brands in the long list of their clients.

During our brief but fruitful meeting, we talked about how and when Harlequin was born, their difference from other agencies, how did the attention span of the general public change, what it takes to attract a buyer with visual merchandising, Harlequin's working preferences and their message.
