    Meet Coach Tommy Zagorski, the new head coach of the Otterbein Football program, hired in January 2023 after a national search. Coach Z has a wealth of experience at multiple levels of football, most recently leading Gilmour Academy to a 9-2 record in the 2022 season. He's excited to join Otterbein and help young men soar high. Zagorski began his coaching career with an eight-year stint at John Carroll University, working his way up to offensive coordinator and Director of Football Operations. He reached the NCAA Division III Playoffs twice with John Carroll, finishing No. 5 in the national rankings in 2014. This week on DingoTalk!

    Check out Erik Ieuter, the Head Coach of the Muskingum Football program, who has a record of success and student achievement at every level. Since taking over in 2018, Ieuter has led the Muskies to a four-win campaign and a five-win season, the most wins in a season since 2003. The team has earned victories over Waynesburg, Wilmington, Otterbein, and Heidelberg, and extended their winning streak against the Quakers to 12 games. With a background working with quarterbacks and making strategic offensive game-day preparations, Ieuter is a force to be reckoned with on and off the field.

  • Thiel College Head Football Coach Sam Bauman
    Sam Bauman, the former linebackers coach at the College of Wooster, became the head football coach at Thiel College in February 2022. He was the defensive coordinator and special teams coordinator at Wooster, where his coaching improved the team's win record from two wins to seven wins in 2013. Bauman's defense also ranked in the top 20 in forced fumbles in 2015 and 2021 and 3rd in the country in red zone defense in 2019. He began his coaching career at the University of Chicago and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, where he served as the team's linebackers coach, head junior varsity coach, and video coordinator. Bauman received a master's degree in physical education with a concentration in coaching from Indiana State University and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Beloit College.

    "Welcome to this week's episode where we are excited to be joined by OAC Commissioner Sarah Otey! Sara is a former college basketball player and graduate of Washington and Lee University. She also holds a Master of Education in exercise physiology from the University of Virginia.
    Sarah began her career in intercollegiate athletics at Hollins University before moving on to the NCAA, where she spent four and a half years as the director of student-athlete reinstatement. In that role, she oversaw the NCAA team responsible for reinstating NCAA student-athletes following rules violations and for processing a variety of waivers related to student-athlete eligibility.
    Currently, Sarah is the first female Commissioner of the Ohio Athletic Conference and only the second commissioner in conference history. In her role as Commissioner, she serves as the chief executive officer, facilitating all strategic and operational aspects of the highly competitive “SEC” of Division III.
    In this episode, we'll be discussing Sarah's journey in intercollegiate athletics, her experience as the director of student-athlete reinstatement, and her current role as Commissioner of the Ohio Athletic Conference.     The Penn Trafford and IUP graduate has mad a name for himself covering sports any sport, all sports in Western PA. Although there was a brief stop at Gettysburg College when he thought he wanted to major in History. Thankfully he stayed writing about sports!
    Alan gave us some great inside on the Pitt Panthers both on the football field and basketball court. Starting with the football field. Alan recapped the 2022 season, what 2023 looks like and more about the happenings in Oakland.
    Alan stayed in Oakland, taking us over to the men’s basketball team under Coach Jeff Capel. Alan addressed the problems he saw with the past Capel teams, what made this team work and when he knew this 2022 team was different.
    We move from Oakland over to the South Side. With the show being released on Draft Day why not talk a little Pittsburgh Steelers talk. He talks about how this draft will see there Steelers upgrade some depth but expects pick Number 17 will play a lot of on Sundays next season but wasn’t sold that it would definitely be a DB.
    We also talked a little Matt Canada as the OC, thoughts on 7 being an OC chatter having from the Yinzers out there. Among other things surrounding the Steelers.

    This week we stay in the PAC with Mike Sirianni Washington & Jefferson Head Football Coach!
    D3 is the purest form of college football” coach Sirianni says. He says of the OAC calling itself the SEC of D3 “Check the Record the last two years”. He also has strong words for Carnegie Mellon and Case Western, “they are using us for the automatic bid, join the PAC conference outright in all sports already”
    The New York Native at a College Fair coach Sirianni decided to play his college ball at Mount Union winning a National Title as a player in 93’.
    Starting his coaching career at his Alma Mater two more National Championships were won by Mount Union and the Larry Kehres Dynasty.
    After 3 years at Mount it was time for the opportunity to be a Coordinator and that opportunity came at Wilkes College. In that year the offense saw some national attention his passing offense.
    In 1999 it was once again time for a move, time to have complete control of an offense and that move was to Washington PA and a very successful program at W&J under John Banaszak who took over from John Luckhardt.
    At 30 years old he started year 1 of this 20 year journey. Coming into a 19 consecutive winning seasons has added 20 more winning seasons. Only 5 schools in the country have 8 wins or more over the last 10 years, W&J is one of those 5.
    Sirianni's winning percentage of .807 176-42 places him among the best among all NCAA football coaches (FBS, FCS, D-II, or D-III) with at least 10 years of experience.
    Coach Sirianni asks 3 questions of his recruits: are you a good young man? Are you dedicated to being the best you can be? Do you love football? If you can answer those 3 questions you can be a President.

  • Carnegie Mellon Head Football Coach Ryan Larsen
    This week continuing in the PAC with defending PAC Champion Ryan Larsen Carnegie Mellon Head Football Coach!
    The Chicago Native coach Larsen played his college ball at Claremont-Mudd-Scrips where he was a two year starter at QB.
    The next step, better the first step in his coaching journey took him Bloomington Indiana. He would earn a masters degree from IU while being a part of the IU coaching staff for two seasons.
    During his 13 year coaching career that included stops in Stevenson University, Rhodes College, Wabash College and Columbia, everywhere Coach Larsen has been he has helped with the success of the programs he has coached.
    Feb.3, 2022 Coach Larsen was tabbed to replace 36 year veteran coach Rich Lackner who went out on Top of the PAC and earning Carnegie Mellon its first NCAA Playoff Birth since 2006.
    Stepping into the Head coaching role, coach Larsen led the Tartans to an 8-0 PAC conference title, as 10-0 regular season record and second consecutive Playoff appearance before falling to eventual National Championship North Central.
    The 2023 season sets up to be a good one for PAC fans and for D3 football. As Coach said top to bottom every team has to bring their A game that how good the conference has become.

  • Geneva College Head Football Coach Geno DeMarco
    This week we are staying in the PAC with 31 year legend Geno DeMarco Geneva College Head Football Coach!
    The 1979 New Brighton graduate, Coach DeMarco first attended Baldwin Wallace, before returning home to Geneva.
    While being a two sport athlete, and the first Academic All-American, coach earned 3 degrees. In 1985 he traveled to Georgia Tech, where he was a GA under Bill Curry.
    The problem with attempting to earn his Master degree while starting his coaching career, GT did not have a masters program for Geno at the time, so it was time to come back north.
    The opportunity presented itself in Morgantown WV under the guidance of Hall of Famer & Mountaineer legend Don Nehlen coaching for two years coaching and earning his Masters.
    When the time came coach moved on to pharmaceutical business, but the passion to coach never went away so much so that he returned home, joining Geneva Pillar Gene Sullivan as a volunteer for 5 seasons.
    1992 coach Sullivan was ready to retire and Geneva had to look no farther, Coach DeMarco would begin the 31 year and counting head coaching career at Geneva College.
    From NAIA, to D3 PAC member, Coach DeMarco who is on the second head coach Geneva has had since 1976. While being the head coach of a successful D3 Program is just part of what coach does at Geneva, he also is a professor in the Business Department.
    He has an overall record of 154-141. This past year the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) named DeMarco to its Hall of Fame for the impact he has had in the NCCAA over his 30+ years as Geneva's head coach.

  • Greg Debeljak Head Football Coach Case Western Reserve
    We are stay in Division 3 moving over to PAC member Case Western Reserve Head Football Coach Greg Debeljak.
    Coach Debeljak was a football and basketball standout at former PAC member John Carroll where he earned a Bachelor and Masters degree. Starting his coaching career with the Blue Streaks.
    12 years with the JCU saw Coach Debeljak go from GA, QB & WR Coach to OC. During that time coach worked with London Fletcher, Josh McDaniels, Tom Telesco.
    The move to came in 2001 and it came just 6 miles down the road at Case Western Reserve. He was in control of the offensive and that was display in 2002 when Case ranked first in all of NCAA Division III in passing offense and second in total offense.
    By 2004 Coach Debeljak was in the Head Coaches chair. Since then the Spartans have had just two losing season, going 125-51 (.710).
    Debeljak is the first coach in Case history to reach 100 wins with the team. In 2017 he was named Coach of the Year in both the PAC and UAA. Coach .710 career winning percentage ranks as the 16th-best among active Division III coaches.
