Moving on to the next slugcat, the Gourmand! While the world remains mostly unchanged, this adorable little chonker offers a set of new abilities, and handicaps, which are sure to spice up this campaign.

This short first episode features me moving from Shaded to Shoreline, testing out the crafting ability and completing the first stages of the Food Quest.

Linkwarden is a self-hosted, open-source collaborative bookmark manager designed to collect, organize, and archive webpages. Its main goal is to help individuals and teams manage useful webpages and articles in one centralized place, while also preserving copies of those pages-such as screenshots and PDFs-to protect against “link rot” (when web content disappears or changes over time).

My video highlights what it does (and how it can be more useful than just using The Internet Archive), I show how its user interface works, the menu settings, how to add a link using LinkDroid on a mobile phone, how to follow public collections using RSS, and discus how to sync it with your browser bookmarks. This is a very slick and useful application to self-host and keep track of bookmarks that you either want to share with others, or want to have available in the future.

Cada vez decisión que tomamos en nuestras vidas acerca de la tecnología, tiene un gran impacto en el mundo cada día. Por ejemplo, piensa en los autos eléctricos, en las apps en tu teléfono y en la computadora que usas para el trabajo o la escuela. Quienes construyen estos programas influencian la manera de experimentar el mundo. Pero no te confundas; ellos no están a tu servicio.

Terminamos con software que suele privar importantes derechos y libertades. Con un software no libre, en cierto sentido, estamos caminando en la oscuridad.

Hoy, no podemos entender el software popular, porque es mayormente privativo. Lo que significa que nuestra participación es limitada activamente por diseño. En cambio, el software termina controlándonos.

Esta es una historia acerca de cómo es el mundo, y cómo podría ser.

¿Qué sucede cuando no levantamos los ojos para mirar? ¿Qué sucede cuando seguimos las migajas de promesas de convivencia?

Considerando tanta presencia de software en tu vida, ¿no deberías ver dentro de los programas para ver cómo funcionan? ¿No deberías poder usarlos como quieras, hacer cualquier cambio que gustes y poder compartirlos libremente con tu comunidad, para vivir en un mundo donde nosotros nuestra tecnología?

Necesitamos software que sea libre, como en libertad.

Todo el software es básicamente un conjunto de instrucciones para la computadora que vienen juntos como bloques de construcción para hacer tu programa. Hay una comunidad global de personas que creen que el software debería servir al usuario, que debes tener la habilidad de modificar, hacer copias y compartir esos bloques de construcción a quienes quieras. Y cuando puedes hacer estas cosas al software, lo llamamos Software Libre.

Con Software Libre no solo puedes revisar qué hace el programa, sino también proteger tu privacidad. También puedes ajustarlo para que haga algo nuevo y creativo. Puedes resolver cualquier asunto en el que pienses.

Protegemos esta libertad con un concepto que se llama CopyLeft. Esto hace que las versiones modificadas o extendidas del programa también se mantengan libres.

Hay razones innumerables para luchar por la libertad del software. Y tu, como usuario, tienes el poder de demandar cambios. Puedes tomar decisiones conscientes hacia la libertad, un paso a la vez.

Hay programas libres que puedes comenzar a usar hoy; que proveen un reemplazo ético a las apps en tu computadora o teléfono. Con el tiempo, podrás reemplazar más y más partes de tu vida digital, con herramientas que respetan tu libertad; y ayudar a otros a hacer lo mismo. Aprendiendo y defendiendo la libertad del software en tu casa, escuela y trabajo.

Cada vez que usas Software Libre estás ayudando a crear una vida más libre para ti y para el resto de nosotros.

Fundación de Software Libre) ha estado luchando por el Software Libre desde 1985.

El viaje no terminará hasta que todos hayamos subido la escalera de la libertad.
