Today in conversation with the #founder of #Kalakarifilmfestival, Rishi Nikam. An exceptionally well tailored #filmfest right from the #heart of India, Madhya Pradesh. The aim of Kalakari film fest is to promote India culture, art and artists. It is also associated with a #nobletask of feeding the poor through an NGO. For each submission that a #filmmaker makes, the festival #donates 50 #food packets to the needy. This year alone the festival received around more than 600 submissions for the virtually held film festival.

The uniqueness lies in the #festivalhampers that were sent out to countless filmmakers in India and abroad. This hamper was designed locally and also sourced from local artists. The second edition of the Kalakari Film festival will be held next year, 2021. The festival has already received over 1000 #film entries in a month for the same. The 2021 film festival will hopefully be a star studded red-carpet event, it will also be graced with international filmmakers.

Rishi himself is an avid filmmaker and #photographer, he also teaches filmmaking in an educational institute. The conversation is in Hindi since we believe in promoting the Indian culture and talents.

Today in conversation with director of Nurabi The Virgin #webseries Joychand Moirangthem all the way from #Manipur, India. Manipur is known to be a culturally rich state of India and connecting with #filmmaker from this region is actually an #eye-opening experience. His webseries has already gained international acclaims in the South-Eastern countries of #Asia, Brazil and even Russia! In fact Nurabi webseries will be the #first to be #dubbed into the #Russian language from the state of Manipur, India.

His talented team is also working on a film festival to exclusively feature north-eastern filmmakers and promote the north-eastern films all over India. He feels there is still a #barrier when it comes to focusing on films from the eastern parts of India, since people are more inclined towards watching #bollywood. But this also presents an advantageous opportunity to get the word out to #international #filmcommunities.

He is currently working on #Nurabi part 2 and part 3 which will be releasing soon, we wish him all the best for his future endeavors. Nurabi can be watched on MamiTvchannel soon. It is also available on #filmeraa tv
