Hello, how are you? Sorry we missed you last week, we were busy being hip and cool and whatnot. We know you missed us, and we're sorry, so we've brought you some game talk, hope that smooths things over between us.

Hear our thoughts on recent developments in the world of gaming, our own gaming tales from recent weeks, and our thoughts and judgements on the PS Plus titles for October 2023.

  • Turn Based

Like any good sitcom, we changed everything up from Season 1 and made our way through a much-altered Season 2, and now it's time to ride into Season 3 just hoping everything works and none of our hosts have any skeletons in their closets. Our first fight episode of the new season is coming in strong, and we're all ready for another 11 episodes of arguing and buying reasonably priced games.

Join our little gamer fight club as Yu-Gi-Oh: Legacy of the Duelist, Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Dragon Quest 11 fight, in a turn-based fashion of course, to be the best game mainly based around turns.

  • Season 2 Finale
Josh says in the episode that this will be a shorter episode. Josh is a liar. Don't be like Josh. That said, we have come to the end of a contested season so why not take our time walking down memory lane if said lane was rife with nettles and other hazards causing pain and suffering galore.
Join us as we choose an overall winner for our categories, outline our top 5s and bottom 3s of the season, and then announce our final tie-broken standings to find who is the hero and who is the zero.

  • Free Play & Freebies - August '23

While our fighting, competition episodes may be winding down for the season, our off-week episodes keep trucking along like some kind of gaming-themed truck. An 18-wheeler with a Mario hat, perhaps.

Hear our thoughts on recent developments in the world of gaming, our own gaming tales from recent weeks, and our thoughts and judgements on the PS Plus titles for August 2023.

It all comes down to this! After 11 weeks of bickering, squabbling and an overall level of fighting that would make a youth karate club feel superior, we've arrived at our final stop - Weird Mechanics!

Join us as Borderlands 2, Death Stranding and Persona 5 have a good ol' roughhouse to work out which is most deserving of the crown of weirdness.

  • Life Sims

In the past, we've indulged in some weird topics. Death, Horses, Religion, all fun stuff. This week, it's back to ground-level basics as we explore life itself, through a collection of Life Sims!

Join our little life collective as Two Point Hospital, Harvest Moon: Light of Hope and Stardew Valley life it out to be the most lifelike of the life imitation games. Will they bring life to this topic? Who can say...

  • Free Play & Freebies - June '23

Is everyone excited? For the first and likely only time, we've managed to record an episode before a big games showcase and we're going to milk it for all it's worth. It had to happen eventually, and we can finally report on the gaming world in a semi-timely fashion.

Hear our thoughts on recent developments in the world of gaming, our own gaming tales from recent weeks, and our thoughts and judgements on the PS Plus titles for June 2023.

  • Religion
This week on Disc Count, we have strayed too far. Now, topics like "Same First Letter" and "Non-Human Protagonist" are all fun and games, but Religion? Religion?? We've decided to explore beyond our depth, and will inevitably suffer for it. But before eternal damnation comes to claim our souls, we'll keep the recording running and try to decide the best game at least tangentially related to religion.
Join us this episode as The Sinking City, Cult of the Lamb and God of War hold their own sermons to convince us they are the best religious game.

  • Free Play & Freebies - May '23

As we tend to our wounds from the last vicious fight episode, we feel its best to sit back and relax with some discussion on what's going on with gaming outside of our usual scrappy, thematically-restrictive outputs.

Hear our thoughts on recent developments in the world of gaming, our own gaming tales from recent weeks, and our thoughts and judgements on the PS Plus titles for May 2023.
