  • An Encouragment for Personal Ministry

It's my ( Jason's ) hope that the body of Christ would rise up and serve one another for the sake of Christ! As disciples, we can help each other as we love and serve one another in their time of need. Disciple Community can be that place where the body is lifted up, and it's not just one person doing all of the lifting. Let's mutually encourage one another, as the Spirit leads.

  • Jesus Is The Word Of God

In John 1, we see that Jesus is referred to as the Word. He was with God, in the beginning, and became flesh and dwelt among us. Jesus left and sent the Spirit, and it is by that Spirit that we now give word, the expressing of the thoughts of God to the world. Listen in!

    John 1:1-5

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

    LOGOS

3056 lógos (from 3004 /légō, "speaking to a conclusion") – a word, being the expression of a thought; a saying. 3056 /lógos ("word") is preeminently used of Christ (Jn 1:1), expressing the thoughts of the Father through the Spirit.

[3056 (lógos) is a common term (used 330 times in the NT) with regards to a person sharing a message (discourse, "communication-speech"). 3056 (lógos) is a broad term meaning "reasoning expressed by words."]

    John‬ ‭1:14‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“And the Word (LOGOS) became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” https://www.bible.com/59/jhn.1.14.esv

Paul talks about desiring the spiritual gift of prophecy.... ( PROPHECY HAS A SIMILAR DESCRIPTION )

    1 Corinthians 14:1-5

Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. 2For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. 3On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation. 4The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church. 5Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up.

    PROPHECY

Cognate: 4395 prophēteúō (from 4253 /pró, "before" and 5346 /phēmí, "assert by elevatingone statement over another") – properly, "speak forth" in divinely-empowered forthtelling or foretelling; prophesy.

In the NT, prophesy (4395 /prophēteúō) occurs 28 times, usually of forthtelling which reveals the mind (message) of God in a particular situation.  4395 /prophēteúō ("prophesy") can also refer to foretelling, i.e. predicting the future as the Lord reveals it.

    Colossians‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” https://www.bible.com/59/col.3.16.esv

  • Vunlerability For The Sake of Healing

In order to receive treatment for illnesses, one must submit themselves to a doctor's care, and be open to treatment. It takes time, it's not an overnight process. The church, we Christians should be willing to receive the broken and care for them in their brokenness as God has cared for us in ours. We must also be as vulnerable to allow others in to our lives to help us through that very healing. Jesus receives the broken not with judgement or condemnation, but gives people what they need when they need it. Listen in!

  • Caring For Kids in the Kingdom

Connie Workman shares her heart for kids, kid's ministry, the role of the church in the life of children, and adoption.

    Psalm 127: 3-5a

Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.

    Mark 10:13-16

Some people brought children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples scolded the people. When Jesus noticed this, he was angry and said to his disciples, “Let the children come to me, and do not stop them because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I assure you that whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” Then he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on each of them, and blessed them.

    Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Jason Villanueva discusses the kindness of God.

Living in a way that people always fail to meet your standards and expectations is a miserable way to live.

Unlimited grace for you requires unlimited grace for others.

And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 2 Corinthians 5:15

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15

They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them. Matthew 23:4

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Or do you despise the riches of His kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God's kindness is intended to lead you to repentance? Romans 2:4

1 Corinthians 13:4 - Love is patient, love is kind...
