Easter Sunday signifies the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave, three days after suffering crucifixion at the hand of the Jews. He appears over 40 days and teaches on the Kingdom before giving instruction and ascending to Heaven. Post ascension, He appears to Saul then later speaks to Paul in prayer saying "my grace is sufficient for you". He appears to John in Revelation as John is in the Spirit and continues speaking. We serve a Living God! He's alive, he's speaking, he's revealing himself to this day. Join us as we explore.

John 13:34-35

People don't need to be loved based on meeting an expectation of worthiness of love... love arrives far before having met conditions. I don't know how to love like that. Christ does. Draw from Him and it is possible.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

There's a spirit of insecurity that many of us deal with, yet we're not always so aware of the ways it shows up in our speech and actions. Jason shares his experience of having someone turn the lights on to his insecurity, a humbling experience for sure.

Acts 1:8 tells us "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

1 Corinthians 15:49 says "And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man."

The Image of God is IN us! As we experience the Lord and learn from Him, we can share those things with the body of Christ and the world, thus bearing that image to those watching and listening. Our prayer is that you'll be activated to share what the Lord is doing in YOU.

We hear the gospel, believe, are saved, and then follow Jesus. But it doesn't stop there. We grow in who we are, we grow to know our identity, and with identity comes purpose and mission. Kimb challenges us to grow in the Lord.

Many of us struggle with "Utopian Idealism" - the mentality that we can control our lives in such a way that we create the perfect, never-changing environment of happiness, pleasure and perfection. If you have breath in your lungs, you know this is foolish. However, it doesn't stop us from sometimes spiraling back into that mindset. The Apostle James will help us navigate this with the following verse:

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4

The Spirit of God lives in us! Therefore, we are heirs of the mysterious and miraculous given as a gift by faith. We, therefore, live our lives according to the Spirit and not according to the flesh. 

Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may understand what has been freely given to us by God. 1 Corinthians 2:12

Continuing in our desire to purify our hearts, we'll spend some time in Galatians 5. Our confidence in our approach to the throne of God comes because of Jesus. As our advocate, as our high priest, as our empathizer and sympathizer.

"I say then, walk by the Spirit and you will certainly not carry out the desire of the flesh." Galatians 5:16
