Disciple Hinson

We are starting a new series on the podcast based on a first hour class that Tanner is teaching. In the podcast, Tanner and Austin work through the content from the class at a slower pace. You can follow along in the handout here. Our goal is to look at Scripture to better understand God's mission and our role in that mission. This week we will look at God’s mission in the Old Testament and our next episode will focus on the New Testament. In future episodes we will hit on "what the world looks like today", lessons from missions history, HBC's approach to missions, and then ways that we can be involved. It’s called "Fellow Workers" by inspiration from 3 John 8: "Therefore, we ought to support such people so that we can be coworkers (fellow workers) with the truth."

We hope this helps your breakfast routine, commute or rest time point kids at Hinson to Jesus. Tanner gets us started with The Storm That Stopped by Alison Mitchell.

We are starting off 2025 with an episode of thankfulness through the life of Trent Hughes. We get to hear his story, his reflections on serving as an elder at Hinson, and what he’s thankful for in the life of our church.

Listen to the final episode from our Advent Class on Christ in the Prophets. For the sake of time, Shai let the class pick a handful of books like Isaiah, Ezekiel and Jonah to explore. You can follow along with the handout which includes helpful introductions to each prophet from the ESV study bible.

The Lord has blessed Hinson with faithful deacons! This episode dives into the biblical background for the office, explores deacons in the life of Hinson today, and has great encouragement for us all as a church family.

In week 3, Shai wraps up considering Christ in the Historical books and then meditates on Christ in the Psalms He helps us interpret the Psalms Christo-centrically so that we can pray and sing them. Follow along in the handout and feel free to sing at home as he teaches a song!
