Disciples of the Eight

The queen has led the Disciples into the Imaginarium, the training and testing ground for the rebellion. Much time has passed since she saw them last, though she has been watching their progress from afar. 

Within the Imaginarium, they can test out their new weapons and show off their skills and she challenges them to do so. This is their chance to show how they have grown since their last encounter. 

So begins an epic battle between the Disciples and an ancient golden dragon. The Disciples prove to be more of a challenge than the queen expected, but they still have more to learn.

Soon, though, they will have what it takes to face the king.

New gifts in hand, the Disciples eagerly look to the next wonderful thing. The queen invites them into the Imaginarium, the magical place where they do most of their training. Once plugged in, the Disciples appear as their ideal selves, which is a strange experience for some of them. 

In the Imaginarium, Iromae and WLL find they can access the information the rebellion has on them. They use that to try and find some of the answers they seek but to no avail. 

Before they can get too caught up in the strangeness of this place, the queen reminds them why they are there. The Disciples have been through a lot since this whole thing began. Now it is time for them to show what they have learned. To prove their strength to the one who started this all.

The Disciples find themselves face to face with their mysterious benefactor for the first time since long before this journey began. They are surprised to see that it is the queen who hired them, but it is undoubtedly her. She leads them to her impossible lair where there is a veritable army of kobolds working on inventions of all kinds.

There WLL is delighted to find a new elemental friend in a unique body that allows it to safely interact with others. His elemental friends are soon given bodies of their own and it is a joyous reunion. 

Afterward, the queen leads the party off to receive some gifts specially crafted for them.

With the new shield completed, WLL and Vikros test out its new capabilities while Ikki and Magdar begin making plans for the hornet armor. They don’t get very far before everyone turns in for the night. 

The following morning everyone is surprised to find the dragons have entered the tower without permission, causing quite the stir. Segrin is quickly banished while Hildreth runs off to go and find Magdar. The king has discovered the location of their benefactor so the party needs to leave quickly if they are to meet her. So they all gather their things and set off on dragon back, causing even more of a fuss. They fly for a few hours, avoiding detection by the king’s ships, before finally arriving at the island chain. There the party is dropped off while the dragons go to deal with the king’s ships. Soon they find themselves face to face with the woman who started this all.

WLL takes the time to introduce the rest of the Disciples to his old friend, Captain Valthan. Afterward, he escorts him back to the room, only then discovering the true horror of what he had been through. He witnessed the captain’s lack of eyes and said nothing, only making plans to meet him the next morning to join his tactics class. Then he goes to visit Iromae to see what she knows of what happened to the Captain. She recognizes the description as that of what happens to the highest priority political prisoners. The ones that are never seen again, that are exposed to the king’s ilithid. 

Meanwhile, Ikki continues working on the project he has been working on since the start of the campaign. He enlists the help of WLL to carve in the final runes and the party gathers to watch the project reach completion. It is an awe-inspiring thing followed up by the beginning of plans to armor Magdar’s hornets.

WLL, Vikros, and Magdar are successful in joining the pugilists' ring at the Falling Dragon. Maximus explains the rules of the ring to them as they sign their names on the roster, before heading downstairs to make sure Bart Enderman didn’t do anything stupid while he was away. Then the party settles down for a free drink and a rest before their next meeting. 

The captain of the guard shows up just as they were preparing to leave to find him. They talk shop for a time before he finally explains his real reason for wanting to meet with them. One of the were-rats they fought is a particularly nasty criminal who is the leader of the were-creatures and loyal to the king. He has escaped capture by hiding in the old mining tunnels beneath the city and the captain needs their help to track him down. Because if the were-rat escapes the city, he will be able to tell the king exactly where the Disciples are.

After witnessing the naval battles, the captain of the guard indicates to Iromae that he will meet with them later, so they have some time to kill. Ikki and Artemis return to the tower to return to their experiments while the rest of the party goes in search of a drink.

They check out a few different locations before Vikros remembers seeing a sign for the Falling Dragon. Seeing a sign outside of the window that says ‘pugilists wanted’ seals the deal for Wall, Vikros, and Magdar. The party files in and meets one of the owners and the head of the pugilist ring, Maximus, former military trainer for the rebellion. If they can beat him, they can be a part of the ring. They chose their weapons and set to the fight while the rest of the party stands back to enjoy the show.

Magdar wraps up his initial negotiations with the stable owner after getting a chance to properly ride one of the battle toads. While the party was watching the shenanigans, Hildreth and Segrin came to find them in hopes to continue their conversation from the previous night. There is some back and forth before it is decided that they will all be joining Mike and Tim in their suite at the Colosseum. This way they are guaranteed some privacy and the boys can watch the games. 

The party tells the dragons that they have decided they will pursue whatever chance they have at saving the world. Iromae also asks if they know anything about who hired them. It turns out the king has a rival, an antithesis. And she is currently hiding out in a nearby island chain. So the party decides they will go and meet her while Mike and Tim deal with a nearby shaman who seems to have found a star stone.

After an intense battle with some werecreatures (the audio for which was unfortunately lost), the party made it safely back to BS Tower. Now that they are rested and their new friend Magdar has been restored, they take some time to enjoy a nice breakfast before deciding where to go next.

They have a meeting set for sometime later in the day with Hildreth and Segrin, but first, Magdar wants to see a man about a frog.
